That gets back to the concept that men and women should be treated equally in the workplace within reason. If a company can survive with a woman being out for 6 weeks to take a newborn why can't they also survive with a man taking 6 weeks? Also, there is a pretty logical theory that one of the things left with the gender pay gap is the concept that a man is more likely to be hired than a female because whether it is consciously or subconsciously done the hiring decision factors in that men will miss less time with trivial things like "taking care of a newborn".

But I do think Islam is a horrible philosophy that is danced around because it is seen not just as a religion, but a minority religion, this despite claiming 1.6 billion adherents. If Islam were something that was created last year by two guys in a basement in Baltimore nobody would have any qualms about saying how horrible it is. Why is it okay to criticize Christians but not Muslims? Why is it okay to think Scientologists are goofy but not Muslims?

Anyway, I think I score liberal points for not supporting a religion that makes women walk around in bags and suggests throwing homosexuals off of buildings.
