Not a chance. Baez is an ELITE defender and 5 tool player. Jimenez is a good hitter with power and that is it. Not fast and a below average outfielder. Think Jorge Soler.

Four out of five tools and missing the most important one: .312 career OBP.

Big Billy Beane fan?

He is actually.

I am. But I don't think Billy Beane was the first guy to realize that getting on base is good. That was dan bernstein. Just kidding, actually it was revealed Truth given to Earl Weaver by the archangel Gabriel.

Not accurate.

If you assume he goes 0-13 in those at bats, he'd be at .299

If you just erase those and pretend they didnt happen, it'd be .309

The point is that he gets walked a lot because he hits in front of the pitcher, and that is skewing his OB%.

To his credit hitting in front of the pitcher is also going to cause the pitch him differently with the pitcher behind him. Moving up in the line up may yield some better pitches to hit.

That he would swing wildly at and miss

No doubt, try explaining that to a bunch of ignorant hillbilly White Sox fans.

Baez is mediocre. And don't get butthurt because Theo traded your best prospect for a guy who isn't better than Mike Fiers.

I agree Baez is mediocre, but that doesn't change the fact that he's almost guaranteed to be better than moncada or Jimenez. Defending champs don't get " Butthurt" they are coming off a WS and have their division on lockdown buddy.

 Based on what? Cub fans look pretty silly saying that Jimenez was a Hall of Famer for two years and suddenly he's traded and he's now never gonna be as good as some clown who can barely get on 30% of the time.

Good at what? The critical art of second base tags?

I don't watch much Cub by my impression is that he is an above average fielder at 3b, SS, 2B. and a league average hitter and a good baserunner. that makes him a good baseball player.

Yeah, he's a big league player. Nothing remarkable.

Jorr, I know you've watched the last few games. Baez made several incredible "steals" of home. He is a very exciting player. He made terrific defensive plays in Monday's game. There's a lot to like in Baez.

GTFO. Baez is better than Dunston. Dunston wasn't even good.

Cubs version of Nate Robinson.

Dunston was a good player. Baez doesn't even have a full season playing everyday.

He's talented and exciting. He just can't get on base.

That's fine if you're arguing sample size, but Dunston was a rocket arm with poor plate discipline and good power. Baez already has more HR's this year than Dunston's career high.
