Getting his bat out of the lineup is the most fixable problem on the Cubs. Doing that though would mean that for as great as Theo's proprietary statistics may be, they led him to sign the worst contract (at the time) in the history of MLB. I doubt Theo could set aside his ego that much thus Heyward probably keeps getting regular AB's.

They benched his dead ass last year. Defensive replacement. Contreras can play the OF and its far less taxing than C. I would have him living in LF with the other two catching. That frees you up to put an assortment of guys in right.

Heywsrd is far from being the problem with the lineup

Well the main problem with the lineup is that it fucking changes every day and that Bryant has done jack shit this year as far as driving in runs. Contreras is a very important part of the lineup.

He had more power before the Cubs "fixed" him. I'll always remember Bernstein, after the signing, saying that his Cubs' source told him the Cubs were giddy at Hayward's potential because they saw the flaw that would unlock his power.

I've never listened to jewstein, he's a fuckin north shore know nothing.. When Cutler was traded here I knew it was disastrous but this 150 lb bag of shit was ecstatic.. SMH. I blame the limp dick suburban cucks for this clown having a job.. Anybody who listens to that retard Goff or Lil Danny or Larry needs to die a slow painful death from Ass cancer.

Great defense adds value. Or, he has higher average than other Cubs (Kyle).

None of this matters because the doomsday happened, but the signing of Heyward is the point where Theo lost his golden touch. Almost every move since has been bad, notable exception being the Soler for Davis swap. They won anyway, so you shouldn't care.

Theo made a ton of terrible moves in Boston after wining. No one can lead you up a mountain better but you tell him thanks and Give him a shove at the top.

Trading for Chapman worked out well, too.
Also the Montgomery deal was great.
And the aforementioned Davis deal.

So I mean...not really.

They won another won 3 years later.

Cubs will win again in 2019 if that trend holds.

Ya but didn't that involve the hiatus and gorilla suit? And the Dodgers inexplicably took on all their bad money. Beckett...Crawford...

No deal is bad when you win the WS. Keeping Heyward in the lineup right now is absurd.

Right, none of it matters. We hit DEFCON 0. The nightmare cannot be un-lived.

But the Chapman deal sucked. The only one worse is the Quintana trainwreck.

Neither deal is really all that bad if you think about what they gave up. They gave up money. Those 2 were both international signees. If Cease becomes a stud then I will get really pissed but Theo created capitol and he used it to win a world series and to re-enforce his rotation.

Huh...so am I supposed to feel better about the Sale deal because he was only a 13th overall pick?

Throw in Russell.and Schwarber and maybe the Sox would consider taking Heyward.s monsterous contract off theo's hands.

Nah, Kenny will just sign him in 2026.

The leading baseball expert on the board guaranteed a 5-6 WAR season. So still has to be a bit of a disappointment

Big disappointment. Still not going to blame Heyward for the last week of bad offense.

Schwarber and Zobrist still play way too much.

I don't buy that Heyward has been even that valuable this year. WAR over values defense and base running.

War is garbage Imo, but I believe I read Lastella had the same war value as Jhey and better than Zobrist.
