All she had to do was shut the fuck up and her legacy would have been that of the good Democrat who supported Obama through her obvious disappointment and the noble candidate who tried her best to prevent the Trump presidency. That in spite of all her lies and controversies and the fact that she is a horrible person who is so self-centered she couldn't even give a proper concession speech.

But that's not who she is. She had to write this idiot book and go on a whining tour and now she will be remembered as nothing but the world's biggest sore loser. Even her biggest sycophants are running away from her. In the end it will probably be her and Huma hunkered down as old ladies in a house full of cats complaining about how men ruined their lives.

Some people are just wired the way she is.

I think many people would behave in a similar way after a career crushing defeat. I would like to believe most of us would have someone tell us to wait before writing a book. This isn't even the type of juicy crap people want to read.

Apparently she compared herself to Cersei Lannister in the book in what had to be the most self aware moment she's ever had.

Have you ever seen the list of companies the Bush family has served on their Boards of Directors?

Or the donors to that cocksucker Ronnie's "library"

I already posted about that in the Bush/Reagen thread.

Now that they "don't need to keep up appearances anymore" is Bill finally going to get that divorce? Why spend the last 15-20 years of your life with a miserable Caller Bob?

because he can still go around banging bimbos and Hillary is either too dumb to notice or doesn't give a fuck.

At this point, what difference does it make?

One thing shitlibs love to do is compare their lives to TV shows that cost money to watch. That time the GrubHub guy was late was just like Game of Thrones and House of Cards combined.

That is clearly 100% true. Though why is it that people like you are so turned off by her self-centeredness and dishonesty and so turned on by Trump's more extreme--even pathological--self-centeredness and dishonesty. The dynamic is hard to completely pin down, though I would assume her sex has something to do with it. His too though--I remain convinced that there is an underlying homosexuality to it. The fantasy of the smooth, vulnerable otter lying in the arms of a strong daddy bear. Or at least a strong-talking daddy bear.

The fix is in. This is almost as bad as the deletion of the negative comments on DiCaro's dumb Tribune column.

If you think I'm "turned on" by Donald Trump that simply speaks to your own idiocy. And I'm not going to get into an argument over which of those clowns is more self-centered. I'd say it's probably a dead heat.

Finally, I would advise you to keep your homoerotic fantasies to yourself. I wouldn't want Nas or Seacrest to delete any of your scintillating posts.

True. Just as damning, she is a policy detail wonk who has blown big advantages in her last two elections in large part because of people SHE put in place, never appreciating her own other flaws.

I still don't get the people who actually bought/read Obama's first book. I couldn't see any entertainment appeal in that one either. Or his next one. If he couldn't proverbially speak with his hands when he was the most powerful man in the world, who's to expect real info or brutally honest opinion in that one?

For a party that you would think includes a lot of feminists, the assumption by the Presidential nominee that the women in your party would vote against you because men say so is pretty insulting.

Just the idea that I could pressure my wife to vote for somebody makes me laugh out loud. I don't even think Archie could make Edith vote the way he wanted her to.

I honestly believe MANY around her didn't want her to win. Her campaign made the same mistakes both times and after 30 years the people around her couldn't figure out how to soften her flaws. This book is a clear sign that people around her don't care.

Yeah I wouldn't expect Obama to say much. I thought he would be different his 2nd term (at times he was slightly different) but he was essentially neutered after the Gates incident. Now it's all about protecting his legacy and his brand.

I've luckily had two votes since we first met. I give her the names to punch. My daughter turns 18 in just over a year, so I am hoping I will have three and soon to be four when the young man hits maturity.

It also looks pretty convincing that if she won the 2008 primary we're looking at 8 years of McCain/Palin

Edit: I take that back, 4 years. I think Obama would have curb stomped them in 2016.

Nah for as bad of a candidate as Clinton is, all of the macro variables against the Republicans in 2008 were a far greater disadvantage than nominating a buffoon like Trump this past election. Edwards probably would have won even if his scandal had come out during the general campaign.

I disagree with that. Her legacy following the last election was that of a 2-time loser who ran such a bad campaign that she couldn't beat a candidate with no credentials and an obnoxious personality. In many democratic eyes she is directly responsible for Trump. The book certainly doesn't help and I do agree she should have just faded out of the spotlight and raked in speaking fees.
