77 and HawaiiYou should both get a timeout. I'm tired of reading their awful opinions that they typed on a typewriter.

His RBI production has been abysmal for a defending MVP. He'll bounce back but I think he's timid this year for whatever reason.

How many RBIs do you think a 2-hitter is supposed to get? Particularly with the steep decline in hitting by the whole team?

well now I see why they have 5 true catchers on team. So you can pinch run in The 6th

How many did he have last year hitting 2nd? 102?

Slightly different last year than this year. Feel free to consult both links in this thread for comparison's sake.

So 83 games batting 2nd. That's a lot in my book.

I thought last time I looked at a comp of Bryant's stats everything was on pace to be identical to last year aside from RBI. There aren't many guys on base when he bats.

That's my point. Thank you for writing it out plainly for others' easy consumption.

With RISP Bryant is hitting .203 with 33 RBI & a .388 SLG:

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/batte ... m?id=12938

Last year he also went deep 39 times. This year he is on pace for 29. Still a good player (5.5 WAR) but not an MVP year at all.

Well shit, trade him.

Now I will grant you that it seems he's, more often than not, not "clutchy".

BTW, he had only 37 RBIs after the AS Game last year. He's got 26 right now.

Do keep in mind the insanity that was the pre-ASG Chicago Cubs (well, pre-July anyway). That was play-out-your-ass time.

Direct result of the overuse in the first half because the fucking starters could barely go 5 innings.

He had schwarber batting in front of him the whole first half. Instead of guy on nobody out situations he more than likely had 2 outs and Baez or the pitcher on base. This is more about the awful leadoff hitter the first half than it is about Bryant.

I don't get why all the starters nibble so much and get these astronomical pitch counts. At least Lester gutted it out tonight.

I like a walk/non out as much anyone but there are times It's your job is to knock in the run.

With Rizzo behind him there's not as much pressure to be that guy though

Good points. And clearly they've missed Fowler all year. Some guys are just RBI machines, KB is more the all around very solid player. And in time I think he will become a solid RBI guy.

I was so sickened by it I don't want to repeat it here. Rewind back to the 4th or 5th inning.

Might be that the ball is juiced and these guys don't want to groove it. Very few Greinke's out there that are strike throwing machines anymore.
