The line is not "hanging in a chow line" ... I don't care what Dave said. He was wrong then, and he's wrong now.

The line is "hanging in and jivin'" ... which makes much more sense since it rhymes with the previous line's "survivin'". Plus I don't recall ever hearing the phrase "chow line".

The assertion comes directly from the folks who wrote the song ... a couple of devil white people (for shame):

... You wrote the lyrics to the Good Times theme. Have you seen the Chappelle's Show skit "I Know Black People"?
Both: No!
Chappelle played a quiz-show host, testing contestants' knowledge of black culture. The question that stumped them all involved a lyric from "Good Times," "hangin' in a chow line."
Marilyn: Well there's no such line!
Alan: It's "hanging out and jiving."
Marilyn: No, it's "hanging in and jiving." I have to look it up. Norman Lear asked us to write a theme for that show, as he did for...

You gonna tell me James Brown lyrics next? How to properly eat a finely cooked rib tip, chopped small too???

That's a very personal question, and I don't know you well enough to discuss that.

Oh, that wasn't a euphemism ... the famous Tinymobile remains mostly dead ... not tossing $600 at it for a water pump. Probably will donate it to the Fire Dept. The 'easy' part of all this was finding the title, or was supposed to be ... in the same filing cabinet for a decade ... apparently it was assumed into heaven b/c it ain't there. Kinda shitcans any ideas of selling it out for parts.

Still having some connections 'round town I heard ahead of MANY that someone we knew was looking to unload an old but very well-maintained 00 Malibu, so that's the current jalopy. It's quite drab, but it does go where I wish it to go without any fuss ... and the A/C is pretty good too.

Hart and the Bandit with Dr. Ken -- could be a winner.

I am thinking of a regular show devoted to the Glorious New York Yankees, past and present. For example, what about a half hour segment devoted to Phil "The Scooter" Rizzutto, who was killing Nazis before killing Nazis was considered "cool."

I could also do a weekly recap of the latest disaster of the New York Football Giants. But only if swearing and throwing things is permitted.

It's not only permitted, but it's encouraged at Kenilworth Studios.

He was my guy. Him and Ray Durham were my absolute favorite players from that White Sox era. I have Baldwin's autograph on a baseball somewhere.

@ Frank: I wish both of them had been able to stay around until 2005. Ray was just a solid damn player, and JB had a good start in the playoffs.

@ RR: Can I have that jersey?
