Finally came to the realization that so many sox fans post in Cubs threads.

Why don't the sox fans create their own record thread? Start with maybe 10-50?

You answered your own question. The Sox are awful and the management team more or less told the fans not to pay attention this year or next. The Cubs are obviously more interesting to discuss from an objective perspective

I disagree, I like watching this Sox team, there are a lot of young unknowns getting their chance. This is why I wanted the cubs to play more rookies when they were tanking.. Fun to watch, and you can still lose and draft early.

Getting awful close to .675 for the 2nd half....

Could one of the mods continue updating this? Ken may have departed this world, but his legacy must live on. He saw the glory of the second half Cubs before anyone.

Who would have thought Bryant would only have 5 more RBI over Happ while have 200 more at bats.

I hope we get the Dodgers round one, bring those pretenders on.

They have a 4.5 Game lead on Was for the #1 seed. Looks like they'll play the WC winner. Could be Cubs though. It's baseball. Weird stuff etc

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

I think something like 70% of their second half was against below .500 competition. NL BASEBALL!

Might be 100% when the Cubs are done with them.

If the games mattered all the way to the end, Dr. Ken would have been right on the money.

But they'll probably go 3-3 the rest of the way because they'll play a lot of the kids who won't make the playoff roster. For example, with 5 catchers, they can afford to let Rivera and Caratini catch the back half of the games, and let Davis start at catcher (and then move to 1B to give Rizzo the rest of the night off) for whichever game Tseng starts against the Reds.

Similarly, the starting IF doesn't have to play a full game all week, get them 3 PA and then get them out of there.
