Three. Or too many nights in a row. I have been pretty much sober squirrel for the last couple months so I'm getting some leeway.

They still couldn't.

4-1 in their last 5 games vs B1G...all on the road...and NIU isn't nearly as strong as they were a few years back.

Their only loss was vs #1 Ohio State.
Just stop already.

Beating Northwestern and Nebraska does not mean they could compete every week in the Big 10. That has not changed.

But maybe you could compete in the Missouri Valley this year unlike last year

Your last sentence makes no sense.....so I'll ignore it I guess. Missouri Valley? Huh?

My argument all along was that NIU could probably hang around .500 in the B1G. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. That's what "compete" means in my world. If a B1G team beats the conference doormats and loses to the big guys on the road.....they get a NYD bowl game. NIU plays every game against B1G teams on the road, goes 4-1. Only loss to the #1 team in the country. Kirk Ferentz gets a 20 year extension for something like that.

I mean....not sure what else they have to do to prove that to be true. Are Northwestern and Nebraska in the B1G?
Do other B1G teams count those as B1G conference wins?

She just told me I had been drinking a bit much before I quit. I refrained from telling her she had no idea.

I've been trying to drop a few pounds so I was cutting back on empty calories. This has had a two fold impact in me. 1) I lost the weight and any alcohol tolerance I had. 2) looking 20 pounds is and dropping to the 160's makes alcohol all the more effective.

You still fail to grasp the simple concept of the fact that playing 1 Big 10 team every year or so is not the same as playing a Big 10 schedule every year. Not sure why that is such a hard concept for you to grasp.

But either way I win because I got you to post more in the last 30 mins than you have in the last few months. So I and the Big 10 win. 8)

NIU could definitely compete in the Big Ten.

I truly don't grasp that, I guess.
NIU played ACC, FCS, B1G the last 3 weeks.

Indiana's 1st 3 games are B1G, ACC, and FCS. If Indiana get lucky and beats GSU, both NIU and IU will have the same record.
Is Indiana currently "competing" in the B1G? How about the last decade?

edit: ALSO IU's B1G game was at home. They lost.

Yep. Although I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic.
It just doesn't seem like it would be impossible to be within a game or two of .500 for NIU in the B1G.
Again...NIU sucks right now compared to what they were a few years back. It happens to every team.

Clemson's defense is suffocating. Still love me some Dabo.

So by compete you mean they could be a perennial doormat for the conference? Sure NIU could do the same as Indiana and lose way more than they ever win.

I don't really think IU is the school you want to compare to for actually competing in the Big 10, is it?

You read funny.

4-1. All on the road. Only loss vs. #1 team.

Not being sarcastic. I doubt they could ever win the Big Ten, but if Rutgers and Illinois can be in the Big Ten, why not NIU? They were in a huge bowl game much more recently than half of the conference.

They just reload every year like Alabama.

I would like to be very clear: NIU would never actually win the B1G. No way.
Only 3-4 teams can actually do that.

Chus (or anyone else) - give me a sleeper to make the playoff 4. Maybe not beat Bama, but make it to the 4.

Not that I am saying anything unknown, but Atlanta needs to learn how to put teams away.
