The news of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's passing today gutted me.

I loved our time together.

No one ever did it better than the Wease.

I have one brief personal anecdote about Bobby.

His bio was coming out and, being the mark I am, I was there in line to buy it and for him to sign it. About 30-40 minutes waiting and I finally get up there and I'm doing the usual fan-boy terrible 'watched you forever, you're great' stilted spiel everyone does, blah blah blah. Anyway, he keeps cutting me off with interjections here and there, as is his custom, and when I thanked him as he was signing the book, he says, "does your mother know you're here doing this?" and, thank God Almighty in Heaven above, my rapist wit kicked in and without really knowing I was saying it until it was all over, I immediately replied with, "I figured you were gonna tell her."

I made Bobby Heenan laugh.

My Bobby Heenan story is that he was doing a promotional appearance at a Piggly Wiggly outside Milwaukee in advance of a Nitro or maybe the Clash of the Champions. A lady went up to him and said "I know you from somewhere. Where do I know you from?" and he said, deadpan, "I'm Pancho Sanchez, the mayor of Mexico." And they went back and forth like this for a while, with her insisting that he's someone from something while he insisted that he was Pancho Sanchez, the mayor of Mexico. He never said "no, just kidding, I'm professional wrestling personality Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan," he just annoyed her until she gave up and walked away.

Very sad, but as others stated glad his suffering is over.

As I've said before, the only guy I've ever seen with a wit as sharp as Don Tiny was named Jack Kennedy.

I loved the guy,too. Nobody faster and funnier out of the ring.

In the ring,he was used as a piece of meat by Bruiser and Crusher. We all loved it as kids. Bob Luce,Verne Gagne,The Blackjacks,etc,etc....loved it!

I just read up on his life and I didnt know how sick he was the last 10 years or so. It's sort of sad seeing him in the state he was in. I couldn't believe it was the same guy. RIP. Great entertainer.

Chicago guy and Cubs fan. I remember early last decade I think he got to do the 7th inning stretch.

Greatest wrestling manager of all time and probably the best analyst also. I used to love when he'd call the world class jobbers "ham and eggers". Wrestling fans were known as Humanoids.

Watched the 92 Rumble last night. It was good. Not as great as people make it out to be, imo.
