I think most posters who spend years here have a prime where they enjoy most posters and threads and love it. Then life happens, posters leave, new posters start taking over and it doesn't feel like your board anymore.

Then you're at the crossroads. Some were here because they just enjoy arguing, commenting etc with whoever. They stay and keep on keepin on.

Then some who mostly enjoyed the actual departed posters themselves more than the board in general move on or post less.

It is what it is. Same thing happens with bars.

Well said. I've been thinking a lot about how we actually live many different lives. Just thinking about what my reality was in the 90s and early 2000s is significantly different than the one I live now. There are a lot of things I did then I wouldn't want to do now.
I think the same thing happens here. This forum provides a certain enhancement to your lives at times and that may or may not last.
