The point is Danny B doesn't seem to grasp that Trump's lies don't make Hillary Clinton a better person.

That's not true, they're unrelated. However, that even one person argues that Trump is the answer to dishonest and self-centered politicians (HRC or otherwise) is proof of the complete failure of our society.

Who is the one person who does that? I haven't met him or her. I don't even think Trump's most ardent supporters would try to claim that he is anything but an egomaniacal liar.

Egomaniacal liar is among the least of the negative attributes that he possesses.

He's not Hitler. And he didn't invent racism. When you talk like this it's hard to take you seriously. In fact, it's not even an attempt at a real conversation. It's just name calling and the suggestion that anyone who voted for Trump is subhuman.

Your use of hyperbole as a means of deflecting makes it difficult to take you seriously. You've been the champion of the defend Trump at all costs wing of this message board.

No one said he was Hitler. No one said he invented Racism. I'm to infer that because he didn't do either of these that somehow makes Donnie boy a swell guy?

You're utterly ridiculous. Hyperbole? You're the one using hyperbole. How has Donald Trump affected you? If you close your eyes and pretend Hillary Clinton is president, you'll be in exactly the same place as you would have been.

As far as "defending" Trump goes, I'll challenge you to find one positive thing I have ever said about him on this message board. But I'm not incapable of recognizing what a shithead Trump is while also recognizing that the media has largely treated him less than objectively from day one. Those covering the president can scream, "PRESIDENTS SHOULDN'T ACT LIKE THIS!" and I'll agree 100%. But what they fail to acknowledge is that reporters shouldn't act like this either.

In my opinion, people miss the mark on Trump. Maybe not LTG or even most on this board but people have and do call him Hitler, subhuman, white supremacist and much more. It is as if resisting isn't enough some feel you have to Super Resist!

There is an element of the boy who cried wolf. There was and still is plenty of things to criticize Trump for. But for nearly a year since the election everything has been "Trump has done something lets drop a nuclear bomb of hate for him". What was the result of that? Not much really. Nas' post count certainly went up.

We are now in September and it seems for various reasons things are calming down both here on the board and in regular life about him. Perhaps, now people can see he is being criticized and dealt with properly when they are no longer screaming and running around with the hair on fire.

If you look back at this board since the beginning of the year its pretty insane and senseless. I "might" be able to pick out five posters that are not mults and really voted for Trump. To read this board you would think there are hundreds requiring people to be yelling all the time and shouting to the mountaintops about every thing related to him.

I don't even really care if people do call him those things. To me the problem is trying to demonize his voters. People have all kinds of reasons for why they vote the way they do and it's nobody else's fucking business. This "if you voted for Trump you're a white supremacist" stuff is just crap.

I've never called anyone that and if people feel that way then maybe it's their own sensibilities that need assessing. Meanwhile you flat out called me an Anti Semite because I dared to look at the creation Of Israel from a Palestinian's perspective. Who the hell are you crapping?

Maybe because the thread wasn't about the Partition of India. That's why.

It was just as good when Zeph posted it the day before.

But JORR only notices it when a fellow TRUMPET posts it.

SAD!

Fortunately, ZephMarshack posted it first. I wonder how Tim Baffoe would grade a book report of 1984 that said the role of government was to make you distrust the government.

There is a story in politics, commonly attributed to Lyndon B. Johnson, about how LBJ wanted to circulate a rumor attacking his opponent in a Texas election. Johnson, it's said, wanted to spread the story that his opponent liked to have sex with barnyard animals. One of LBJ's aides said, "We can't prove he's a pig f----r."

"I know that," replied Johnson. "I just want to hear him deny it."

Hillary on Fresh Air, wants the election results thrown out

Quote:
I want to get back to the question, would you completely rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election if we learn that the Russian interference in the election is even deeper than we know now?

No. I would not. I would say —

You're not going to rule it out.

No, I wouldn't rule it out.

So what are the means, like, this is totally unprecedented in every way —

It is.

What would be the means to challenge it, if you thought it should be challenged?

Basically I don't believe there are. There are scholars, academics, who have arguments that it would be, but I don't think they're on strong ground. But people are making those arguments. I just don't think we have a mechanism. You know, the Kenya election was just overturned and really what's interesting about that — and I hope somebody writes about it, Terry — the Kenyan election was also a project of Cambridge Analytica, the data company owned by the Mercer family that was instrumental in the Brexit vote.

There's now an investigation going on in the U.K., because of the use of data and the weaponization of information. They were involved in the Trump campaign after he got the nomination, and I think that part of what happened is Mercer said to Trump, "We'll help you, but you have to take Bannon as your campaign chief. You've got to take Kellyanne Conway and these other people who are basically Mercer protégés."

And so we know that there was this connection. So what happened in Kenya, which I'm only beginning to delve into, is that the Supreme Court there said there are so many really unanswered and problematic questions, we're going to throw the election out and redo it. We have no such provision in our country. And usually we don't need it.

Now, I do believe we should abolish the Electoral College, because I was sitting listening to a report on the French election and the French political analyst said, "You know in our country the person with the most votes wins, unlike in yours." And I think that's an anachronism. I've said that since 2000.

Trump said he would question the legitimacy of the election if he lost and everyone with a media gig crapped their pants. We all just play for our teams.

So now she's saying it is all a grand conspiracy by data analytic companies and the only way to fix it is to scrap the electoral college?

No, the issue is not that you looked at how it was created. It's that you don't think Israel should exist where it is in any form, or in the Middle East in any form even though Jews predate almost every other group that has a country there, and you wouldn't even say WHERE you think Israel should exist outside the Middle East.

Don't try and act you just think that mistakes were made when it first started. That's flat out wrong and unfair to those who questioned you about it.

That's false. I told people where believed it should have been created and they didn't agree with me. Also when you say predate all others prove it. Palestinians were the dominant group in the region by a wide margin when Israel was created. The vast majority of Jewish people had to migrate from other parts of the world in order for there to be a sizable population. Those are facts.

I question why anyone believes this to be acceptable. I have no qualms with Jewish people and I have never commented about them in any other forum but this one.

No matter how you or anyone chooses to portray it a nation state was created on land inhabited by another group of people.

Why is it that there were only Palestinians there for so long? Jewish tribes had lived there for a long time then they were all gone? Did they leave on their own volition? Where they ended up, were they welcomed? The Jewish/Palestinian issue goes back to the time of David and Goliath, it is nothing new and it pre-dates the birth of Islam. It can be argued the Jewish people had a nation state that they were migrated forcibly from (similar to the Trail of Tears in the U.S.) and were allowed to finally return to it 1500 years or so later.

You don't believe Israel has a right to exist right now in the Middle East. You won't say where it should be "moved to" either. This is why people consider your view on this to be anti-semetic.

I didn't say it predated all others. I'm saying that it predates many groups in the Middle East who have a country. The Jews were forced to flee many Middle Eastern areas and that is why populations were low. To blame them for that, is well, there could be a word for that.

That doesn't change the fact that you believe that Israel, as a country, should not exist anywhere in the Middle East and if you had the power to do so you would dissolve Israel right now and you won't even say where it should be moved. We aren't talking about how it was created. We are talking about what should be the modern status of the country. You have an answer that certainly can be considered anti-semetic.

Do you believe that the Indians deserve a nation state on land found within the Continental U.S.?

You are making an argument that has no basis in fact. I will never deny that Jewish people have not been persecuted throughout history. If you want to make the argument feel free but you are going to come up short in that area too. The chief persecutors of Jewish people throughout history have not been Muslims. It's been Christians. Shouldn't Israel be created on land where the majority of people happen to be Christians?

They probably do, or proper reparations.

I'm just trying to explain why many find you to have anti-semetic views. You believe the state of Israel, which exists today, should not exist in any form on the land it currently exists on, or anywhere in the Middle East, and also won't even say where it should be moved which leads to the obvious conclusion that you don't think it should exist anywhere. Therefore, there is no reason to answer your attempt at deflection as no matter what my answer is it doesn't change the discussion.

They haven't been afforded their own nation though.

Do you believe that Israel should have been created on land where the VAST majority of people were Palestinians?

Never thought I'd see the day Rick ducked a question.

I have no problem with Israel being created on at least some of that land. There would have been better ways to accomplish it but the Jews also have a long history in that land even if for reasons mostly out of their control they had to leave or die.
