Let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet. This was a losing team at the All-Star break and hasn't clinched a playoff spot yet. Sustained success can't be credited at this point.

I have maintained all season that they would win 90 or more games and the division and never wavered from that opinion. The idea of predicting a title is a bit silly. Too many variables in the playoffs. But the fact that they are back in the mix, the year after winning a title is pretty exceptional. Theo and Jed have done a fine job.

I remember those Giants teams from the last decade. They were built for the playoffs. Even the years they didnt make it, IF they had made it, they would have gone to the WS for sure. With that ballpark they have, they are forced to play small ball, defense, and pitch well. That translates into winning baseball anywhere anytime.

Hope the Cubs make it. If we look on back on the season we can see they have a problem beating good teams. But when it's playoff time all bets are off. I am hoping these guys have learned how to win in the playoffs.
