Seacrest has been fine as an Admin so far but BigFan was lauded as a great Admin for many years too. He cracked after many years.

BigFan was a fantastic moderator until he got sick of dealing with all the bullshit here, snapped, and started acting like an asshole. It's understandable for anyone who's had to deal with malcontents in a labor of love type of engagement. Over time, those types of situations wear on the person and eventually they change their demeanor and the way they act towards the people involved.


Seacrest has always been a great guy and remains so as a mod. Check back in 5 years and he might be an asshole as well.

What are some examples of "all the bullshit" board admins have to deal with? I'm honestly curious.

Editing a post and then needing to create a story behind the edit in order try to convince the board that it said something different than it did, even though MANY people saw the original post.

That would be a hassle.

I'll give you an example I've shared before. He eventually mellowed some, but towards the beginning of my March Madness tournament, Panther would pretty constantly PM bigfan complaining about it and how he was being treated in it. He gave bigfan a few days worth of grief because I broke a tie between him and Nas. He then "most likely" created a ton of fake accounts to make extra votes when I still did it with poll voting. Then, in another year, he kept on trying to get bigfan to let him "buy" the tournament so he could run it himself.

Basically, a whole bunch of petty behind the scenes BS because people got way too worked up.

To me the main thing is, what do you moderate? The problem when you start deleting shit becomes, why this and not that? And then you are making editorial decisions.

And also you may not see something. I don't know if Nas and Seacrest read every thread, but I don't. Someone could threaten to kill all the living U.S. presidents in the basketball section and I would likely never see it.
