So what was the point of bumping this thread, IMU. To stick to me for not believing a team that was 4 games under .500 at the AS break could win 90+? Wow. You got me. Good going. A million other baseball fans and I had reservations about the Cubs wining the NL central given where they stood two months ago.

I could bump 16,000+ posts of you being "almost right" as well. You do stupid things like this, then turn around and seriously ask to be in charge of an entire section? Get some help.

Looks like FF could be right on the money. Proof that predictions are meaningless. :)

You must know by now that you will always encounter people in positions of power that you don't believe belong there.

You didn't just exhibit reservations about the Cubs winning 90 games. You were incredulous, and you were thinking us idiots for calling for 90 games. You stated, in a post Ken bumped (funny you didn't call him bumping your similar post a "stupid thing") that there is absolutely no way someone could look at the 2017 Cubs and predict 90 games based on how they played in the first half. I had pointed to the body of work the Cubs had in 2015 and 2016. I had pointed to the unbalanced schedule. But no! You stated we were idiots for predicting the Cubs would still win 90 games in May, and then once again at the All Star break.

I do not think the Cubs have that in them this season. I think the best the Cubs might be able to do is play at a ~.530 clip (63-56) for the rest of the season, which puts them at 85 or 86 wins.
Look how incredulous I was!

You mean the post that Dr Ken started about the Cubs second half record that he bumped almost every week? Why would that be stupid. That was his thing. You bumping an old thread where I posted something that was incredibly reasonable at the time is stupid.

Here is the link to my ONLY post in that threadl viewtopic.php?f=32&t=107438#p2754599

Again, look how incredulous I was! I also never called anyone an idiot in that thread, or this one for that matter, do don't lie.

My baseball knowledge does not have to be based on just six weeks.

This Cubs' team is essentially the same team as last year's. The early May 2017 Cubs may simply be the late June / early July 2016 Cubs.

Furthermore, in both 2015 and 2016, when I mentioned the Cubs would hit better once the weather warmed up, it was dismissed. And then it happened.

Why wouldn't the Cubs start hitting more in the next few weeks? Starting now, essentially.

The Cubs are winning 90 or more games. Would you like to put up a Benjamin that says that won't happen?

This isn't even close to being true. You should take a good, hard look at the last six weeks and get smarter on this subject.

You wanting to bet after chasing me around the board claiming I welched on a bet that was never made is rich.

You said I need to "get smarter on the subject." Yeah, you tried calling me an idiot.

Except for, you know, the leadoff hitter, the outfielders, the closer, no 3rd catcher, and the 5th starter.

You keep attesting to being a smart baseball fan, yet contradict yourself with posts like the ones I have quoted above, which were made barely two hours apart mind you. I suppose your posts should be hashtagged "#IM Dumbass"

Frank, would you like to respond to this? Specifically, the part where you deny calling me an idiot. And specifically the part where you accuse me of lying about it. Thanks.

I did not call you an idiot. Not my fault you posted the wrong word. Do simple better. And I was right anyway. The 2016 Cubs are not the same as the 2017 Cubs. It's not even close.

And I was wrong about the Cubs playing as well as they did post AS break. Does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Pretty much all that needs to be said.

You referring to me as an idiot is certainly not unheard of.

Tell me something I didn't know four and a half months ago.

I'd argue that losing Fowler and Ross changed this team considerably from last year. They really missed Fowler leadoff bat all season but particularly early on and Lester isn't quite the same without his banky.

Arguing with Frank doesn't mean I'm siding with you and your weird obsession with him. I don't want to be involved with you and your thoughts of tossing Frank's salad with maple syrup.

No way. You live for the attention.
58,415 posts?
This is your whole life. You have nothing else besides this and breakfast, little fella!
I think this is just a feeble attempt to generate some "Flapjacks, please don't go!" posts to make you feel wanted and needed.
How long did it take you to look up this post of mine - "I'm really tired of his puerile attacks and am now considering just abandoning this place entirely.
Frank's bullshit is really wearing on me."
Do you have a life outside of this board? You are a total loser.
