Getting 3-1/2 starts from Roger Ebert site. Those reviewers don't generally throw a lot of bouquets but they did for Logan.

they're doing X-23, aren't they? this could dully kill two birds with one stone! (jackman leaving the wolverine role, marvel wanting to get more stronk independent womyn into [leading?] superhero roles [see: captain marvel] )

honestly, even tho jackman proved to be superb casting, i think they'll truly hit a speedbump when robert downey jr decides to leave the iron man gig. altho hey IIRC doesn't marvel currently have a young balck girl as ironman in the comics nowadays? check check [discount] double-check!

(discount cuz whoever comes in to replace RDJ aint gonna command RDJ wages!)

Saw it Thursday. It was everything a rated R Wolverine movie should be, and more.

Well made and well acted. The plot was pretty weak. It was better than every other X Men movie other than X2. The Deadpool preview was pretty fantastic.

That movie was emotionally draining but in the good sort of way. Just tons of hurt and gore and heart.

I caught this movie last night. I'd give it 3 our of 4 stars. It was good, but I wouldn't agree with some of the lauds it has been receiving. I think the R rating was unnecessary and some of the language just seemed forced compared to how it worked so well in Deadpool. But I guess Fox might have wanted the R-Rating just so they can up the violence and gore, which I thought was done very well.

I'm not really sure where the X-Men franchise goes from here. I know they have another Deadpool movie coming along, and I'm sure they will get to an X-Force movie eventually, but are the X-Men done for good on screen?

They are filming the next X-Men this summer. Pretty sure they are doing the Phoenix saga again. Maybe this time they'll include the Shi'ar empire and starjammers.

Caught this flick this weekend. I liked it a lot but it was depressing. Thought they could have shaved some time off, felt like it dragged a bit here and there. The Deadpool teaser was great too. It actually got my wife to watch the first Deadpool movie the next day   She didn't realize Ryan Reynolds was the main guy.

saw this over the weekend, good movie but I have a question.

Did I miss a X-men movie along the way cause I don't understand why Professor X was hiding out in Mexico and also what was wrong with him? I don't think they ever explained that in the movie. Also, it sounds like all the other X-men were dead, how did that happen?

And doesn't this movie contradict with Days of Future Past since that shows a future where Professor X and Wolverine are still alive.

And it seemed like a weak way for Professor X to be portrayed in his last movie, I feel like his character deserved better than just being treated like a sniveling, whiny invalid.

Mostly every question you asked is explained in the movie.

The one question that isn't answered is that this future takes place after that scene at the end of DOFP.

Patrick Stewart has had nothing but positive things to say about his character, and the way he was portrayed. I'm paraphrasing, but I believe he said he enjoyed playing Prof. X much more differently than he ever had before.

Watch the movie again after smoking less dabs.

He was having seizures that were causing him to psychic blast everyone in his vicinity. They never officially come out and say it but you are to assume that he had an episode at the mansion and accidentally killed everyone.

I just watched it, thought it was above average.

Introducing x-23 and x-24 in the same movie was a bit much.

I think they went the cheap route like Deadpool, in not involving anyone else.

Got my Logan on Blu ray the other day. Came with digital hd and Logan noir. Been enjoying watching it again.

Amazon even sent me two copies by mistake

My man, you gotta do a little research on the production of these films. This story was Hugh Jackman and James Mangold's idea. They absolutely did not want to do a huge cgi fest where the world is about to blow up if we don't stop this super villain film. If you went into this film looking for buildings falling and flying superheroes shooting lightning you were definitely going to be disappointed. They wanted it to be a smaller scale. Jackman knew this was his last time playing Wolverine, and he wanted his version of the character to go out the way he saw fit. It's a lower budget film, but it's a really solid film with more heart than just about every other comic book movie to date. It's also Jackman's best performance as Logan. I was more than satisfied, but to each is own.

Next mutants movie (after they finish the ones in production) is going to be a horror-movie type thing with no costumes and no super-villains. I like the direction movies like Logan take where not everything is an end of the world scenario. Smaller stakes can be just as entertaining.

Absolutely. I hope New Mutants continues the streak Fox Marvel has been on outside of Apocalypse. Deadpool was an action/comedy. Logan was more of a western/drama. New Mutants having horror elements sounds pretty entertaining considering the villain will be Demon Bear. Plus one of the characters is a witch and another is basically a werewolf.

Fox is ahead of the curve here altering the genre.

I thought it was very good. I probably need to see it again though to appreciate it.

I wish I didn't know that this was basically "Logan dies" the whole movie. I'm sure that was unavoidable unless I saw it in theaters the first weekend but still it would have made the ending much more powerful.

I thought the other major death in the movie was actually pretty poorly done. It was almost like it was an add in. I think he deserved a better scene for that.

The "other" death was expected, but it did come out of nowhere in the movie if that makes sense. Maybe that's what they wanted tho. A contrast between the long death at the end and a quick death at the end of the second act.

Aaaaand he's alive again.

At least in comics:

Three years dead isn't bad.

Saw this movie a couple of months ago and thought it was quite good. I am not a big fan of the X-Men and Marvel series so much but
enjoyed this Wolverine series for the most part. Nice way to put a cap on it.

I watched it. Liked it a lot. My brother in law keeps telling me that I should watch the Noir version, says the black and white fits it. I haven't seen too many of the x-men flicks but have enjoyed two of the Wolverine movies. Figures, always liked him when I was a kid.
