are you trying to say he had financial problems?

I think so. Know his brother says he was a millionaire but that time had probably passed. He had a gambling itch and in Vegas you can run through a lot of money in a very short amount of time. That's an expensive habit.

Everything I read was the idiot had four homes still and plenty of money. He was described as being on the lower end of the whales. They were comping him entire floors of the Atlantis. He wasn't broke as far as has been reported so far.

I'm just glad that we all agree hoping this goes away on its own is the best way to solve the gun problem we have.

Now what can we do to solve the mental health issue?
Probably nothing though.

Don't you worry. We are working on making the issue worse by reducing access to health care!

Mental health in America is going great. Believe me. Healthiest mentals in the world.

I'd agree with ltg in that it's very possible he blew through his money (which Mandalay or other casinos would know very precisely with gamblers at his level), but it doesn't explain why he had so many (23) guns in his room. It has to be something other than financial.

I feel weird when we check into a hotel and bring a large cooler with us. It is just awkward. I can't see how someone is waltzing into a Vegas hotel lobby with a number of rifles in cases.

I asked the same question. It does not make a difference to me as far as how tragic it is. I was more wondering if the guy was actually able to hit that many people. I found that to be unbelievable.

We definitely should do all we can about mental health but there will always be people who just SNAP one day with no prior red flags. Some of them will have guns.

Isnt it really that simple? We choose to let people arm themselves so you're gonna have some innocent people shot.

There really is no solution. Nothing I've heard anyway.

His brother stated that he hadn't really spoken with him in about 6 months. That is the one thing that gives cause for pause. Definitely enough time to run through some bread and when guys take big hits on the gamble side they tend to become reclusive and distant.

Exactly. It doesn't negate the tragedy of it all if some were trampled or run over or shot. It's just more for statistics. More Civil War soldiers died from disease than getting shot. It doesn't change the number of dead. It's just interesting to know the statistics on how people were harmed in the incident.

And it can actually have other positive effects. If 3/4 of the injured people were trampled at a gate trying to leave, other venues might see that as a way to increase the number of exits, etc.

Agreed, that was my curiosity as well. It was not intended to minimize the actual "gun" casualties. And as others have pointed out, there could be other aspects where this does come into play, such as legal liability. I can't imagine Mandalay would be liable for a person being shot (unless, of course, it could be proven they knew this guy had guns), but if the person was trampled, then there could be issues with the concert venue having proper emergency exits, etc.

This is an equivalency but so what. Whenever Muslims commit terrorist acts its about a shitty ass religion which seeks to destroy civilization as we know it. Whenever a white guy commits an act of terrorism it invariably becomes about mental illness.

Yep. And we choose to let people drive and buy fertilizer and own Ginsu knives. Bad people will do bad things, and most of the time they cannot be stopped ahead of time. There will always be an instrument of harm available.

TRUMP: "Wow. sons of bitches. That’s a lot of people, but Nobody helps the mentals more than me."

(APPLAUSE)

TRUMP: You know I have a solution to the mental problem in America — Just have them build the wall. It’s like I'm a genious, I know. Just build and build. Like taking one day at a time, but replacing it with, one brick at a time. I don’t even know where the genious comes from! I just sit on the potty and poof, it comes to me.

And when you’re president, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab congress by the p**sy. You can do anything."

(HUUGGEEEE APPLAUSE)

You guys do know what "treating mental health" entails right? It's taking away rights of those who we think have potentially dangerous tendencies and it still would not have stopped this guy at all.

His dad was a bank robber and psychopath per FBI in early 70s. so there may be some genetic issues there.

I agree. Psych profiles of all Americans based on family history is required now.

Mandatory castration of all non-approved citizens eliminates many of these problems.
