At first I thought, "It's not mainstream, either. That is hyperbole. It's nowhere near mainstream." But I guess I can see how this alt-right thing is--I mean, if people are hearing about it, whether they believe it or not, it's mainstream.

I think what attracts most people to it is all the things liberals blithely ignore (immigration, lowered standard of living, debt, the continued decay of the suburbs), as well as their holier-than-thou attitude. Not their fault, but they ain't helping.

I somewhat believed Hillary a couple of decades ago when she talked about a vast right wing conspiracy. I place many of the ills of our current political discourse on Newt Gingerich, so I will nominate him as the well from which this sprung.

White people are racist. They were/are sneakier at practicing. Now being flamboyant about it is becoming fashionable again.

Not even close.

Definitely.

I never said other races aren't. Humans seem to be inherently racist. People gravitate toward their own people.

No need to be defensive about it.

True but there is bound to be blow back and it comes in many forms. It does not have to be Nazis that are the only ones pushing back to what they experience. Basically, since not long after 9/11 it is really fashionable and acceptable to label all Republicans mouth breathing, Fox News watching, white male, racist, teabagger Nazis. If you and others really think that is the case I apologize.
You are doing your pittmike thing again.

Becoming a Nazi is not a valid response to anything the left has done. I try and avoid judging your seemingly constant defenses of Trump to be "fair" but when you are also doing it for Nazis it is hard to look past it.

I apologize if I was unclear. My comments are aside from Nazis. For me there is never a reason or cause to be blamed for the Nazis or KKK. I am trying to discuss general push back.

Look, if you want to absolve the left for indirectly helping the far right fine. I can buy the other side of the argument.

But, you can't absolve the left for directly nurturing and welcoming Islam into the western world. A far worse ideology than even Nazism. If you really gave a shit about keeping destructive ideas that threaten our way of life and cause grief to millions you'd have disowned the left a long time ago because of their Muslim infatuation.

So yeah, so what if the left maybe did/maybe didn't lead to a more visible American Nazi movement. They've imported millions of people that believe in something much worse than fascism into almost the entire western world. For that they can't be forgiven.

We are bombing the shit out of Muslim countries but yet they are somehow a threat to our way of life. Propaganda knows no bounds.

Whatever sells a book, blog, or speaking engagement is fair game, and most of the sheep just eat it up with a spoon. The left spends all their time getting "triggered" by their bullshit and following every word like badrogue on DiCaro's twitter. Both sides are horrible.

If you're going to use puppets you usually can't see the puppeteer. If you can see the person holding the puppet they're usually a ventriloquist. In either case, you're supposed to think the puppet is it's own entity. But with Avenue Q the person is holding the puppet AND doing the exact same thing the puppet is doing. So what is the point of having the puppets?

My racist rankings

1. Latinos- Extremely insular. Do not like anyone without a tan.

2. White people- Making a comeback for the top spot lately.

3. Middle Eastern- Generally nice people except for that whole sharia stuff.

4. Black people- Can be justifiably racist, but also unjustifiably racist.

5. Asians- They just hate other Asian people.

I don't believe that is correct. Humans are inherently tribal. And that's for a good reason- basic survival, dating back to caveman days. But I certainly don't believe that tribes have to be organized according to race.

The point of having the puppets is just so they can parody Sesame Street

Yea whatever. Go on about "your history" to make some insipid point about Islam that isn't really relevant or informing. However you want to defend the indefensible, bud. Right now somewhere in the world a child is being raped by a Muslim, someone is being directly murdered because of Islam in more than a handful of Muslim-dominated countries that are perfect case studies to prove that religion is incompatible with even the barest minimum of human decency.

You would never indulge Holocaust denial from a neo-Nazi, I'm not going to indulge Islamophilia from some basic ass internet liberal. Keep your history to yourself.

Muslims make up less than 1% of the American population. That really is some threat. I'd hate see your reaction if they ever reached 3%. You'd probably want to take out the nukes then.

If you're so against, why did you move to France? There are certainly far more Muslims there than in the US.

Depends where you are. Some places are overrun I hear, I'm going to Marseille next week we'll see how that is. I mean it's not like I cannot function in their presence. They can even be nice people individually.

I'lll you one thing, the French are done with them. At least the people. They want nothing more than to get them out of the country. It takes a little prying to get them to talk about it (I've known the people I'm staying with for years and they had to get drunk to drop the shit and speak frankly) and its one of those weird topics that are OK to discuss behind closed doors but still taboo in public, but the sentiment seems overwhelming.

I don't think it is too far behind closed doors. It is illegal to wear a burka in France. Pretty clear where it is heading. As far the country try to visit the east part. Strasbourg is much more like Germany actually and quite nice.

Fuck me the left can't meme.

I agree with some of America's points. The left needs to drop the unconditional love for Islam.

If there was such a love for Islam here there would be more Muslims in the country. Doesn't the constitution state that people have a right to practice whatever religion that they choose to practice? We sure are tolerant of others aren't we? That is until we aren't of course.

I don't think any Republican lawmakers have a big ol portrait of the fuhrer on the wall. Otoh Dems have the statue of liberty wearing the fucking hijab hanging up.

As long as you rightfully view Islam as an extremist ideology that is as bad or worse than Nazism (I would argue the latter) you have to recognize that Democrats are embracing them much more publically than the Republicans do white supremacists.

Can you provide an example of said embrace?

Every war and military operation that the U.S. has undertaken during the past 15 years has involved a Muslim country. That sure is some embrace.

While it is true that the far left has a strange love affair with Islam, that's not really a trait of the mainstream Democrats. Also, those same mainstream Democrats spent all of 2016 conspiring against a moderate social democrat so they could win wealthy suburbanites, while the Republicans have been overrun by teabaggers and Donald Trump. The window of acceptable political discourse has moved rightward for years.

It's so exhausting keeping track of whether Obama was a secret Muslim or at minimum a secret Muslim lover or whether he droned the shit out of them and instituted the original travel ban so everything Trump and Co. have been doing is Actually Perfectly Normal. Conservatives seem to change which of their two versions of history they prefer at a moment's notice.
