Strasburg starting is perfect. I honestly would have been worried about facing Roark today after all the commotion. Now you have a mentally fragile pitcher who has a tummy ache and who we already beat once. I think this works out better for the Cubs.

I dont think so. I think this is Strasberg. He felt all the pressure and changed his mind.

His mind is not right, things are getting under his skin. Will impact his pitching this afternoon.

I wouldnt count on that but Cubs (most teams) are pretty good seeing a pitcher for the 2nd time.

See 2016 (2016) Kershaw, Kluber

True. Maybe it will push him to greatness and he will be even better this time around.

But I doubt it. He has been described as a guy that is super picky about routine, and is not comfortable going unless everything is just right. This is clearly not a case where everything is just right. I just cannot imagine that his mind will be right come first pitch today

Strasburg is going to work so hard to get into his routine today...going to warm up before the game....ready to toe the rubber in the bottom of the first....and there is going to be a three hour rain delay.

The Cubs lineup was already stated as being the same as yesterday, how will it change now with Strasberg going

I was rooting for a short delay so I wouldn't miss any of it on my commute home but not looking like rain at this point.

That's a mold strategy, Dusty ... let's see if it pays off.

Heyward in and either Jay or Baez on bench.

I might. But I opted against it in Game 3 and they won, so...

This means they were either tied or down when you got home, and only scored the runs after you got in front of the TV?

Don't fuck us over, RPB!

Need to end it today. Really don't need a game 5. The conditions will be rough. Going to have to string hits together today.

I have a real fear you can scratch out Stasburg and insert Rodon in the blank space without it changing the sentiment or the enabler

To this point, Strasburg and Arrieta are both in the MLB Top 10 in 2017 for BAA.

yeah, this is not a mind game thing. Dusty isn't smart enough to play the fool that well. This kid must be somewhat weak mentally to not want the ball. Doesn't mean he won't pitch decent.

Then a repeat with Gio/Scherzer in Game 5

Nats start their magical run to the title with this move.
That would be a cool story.

Washington DC has been waiting since 1924 for a World Series.

It's a horrible sports town. (Actually a horrible town in general). They don't really deserve anything.

It's not even a town, more like one big extended stay hotel

If it was a game by the Nationals, the joke was on Stasburg. Everyone spent the last 24 hours telling him what they really think of him. Fun!

#Nats have won 95+ 4 times in last 6 seasons. That's success.
The "no post-season wins are just a fluke" narrative?
Lost steam today.

Strasburg starting Now is an even worse call..
Toughest inning is not the 9th...
It's the 1st.

Don't get why people think playing Zo in the outfield is acceptable. He's not good. No matter the match up, it should be Jay, Almora, and Heyward today.

What's it like in the Nats clubhouse right now (other than very moldy)?

Dusty or one of the vets could spin this into an everyone doubts us type thing

It's nice we won a title last year so we really don't have to worry if we win or lose.

Yep.

Although, I will admit the uber close games have had me a little more worked up than I thought.

"He didn't feel well yesterday but today maybe a new day," Scott Boras, Strasburg's agent, told ESPN's Jesse Rogers in a text message.

Jesse Rogers and Bora$ (shoutout to SHARK) are texting buddies.

The Cubs have beaten pitchers a lot better than Strasburg in the postseason.

I swear I think some of you are reading a different board at times. Who is saying otherwise?

We are mocking what a huge pussy this guy is. No one has denied he dominated his first start.

No one has argued Zobrist is a good idea either

Yup. After overcoming Andrew Miller, anything that happens over the next decade is just icing on the cake.
