Yup. After overcoming Andrew Miller, anything that happens over the next decade is just icing on the cake.

Yup. You got one without him. Hopefully the bullpen holds up this year but who cares?

Dont think anyone posted this but did anyone notice Zimmerman may have gotten hit on the first pitch of the at bat where he knocked in Murphy?

It looked like it hit him. They didnt show the replay. Umpire appeared to ask Zimmerman if they should check or want to challenge and he said shook his head no.

Bad ass move. He wanted to be in that spot, not pass the buck. I knew right then he would get the job done.

If the Indians lose tonight , Miller will have had a direct hand in his team being eliminated 2 years in a row .

Strasburg replaces Roark. Heyward replaces Schwarber.

We are mocking what a huge pussy this guy is. No one has denied he dominated his first start.

The change started to become known around 9 am but it didn't seem like Vegas believed it. Roark was up for what seemed a 2-3 hours after even my stupid ass found out. It was a 40 dollar difference in the price.

This is just an odd situation all over the place.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier in this thread, but in Game 3 the Cubs sent 30 men to the plate, all of them could have tied the game or given the Cubs the lead with one swing of the bat.

Recently retired big league pitcher just texted me with the following on Strasburg: "Everybody shamed him into starting."

Same for Nats?

And every team in every game ever that doesnt have more than a 1 run differential?

Or am I missing something?

No the nats had 4 hitters that came up where no matter what they did it wouldn't have tied or given the team the lead.

When would a solo homer have not tied that game?

Sorry, not trying to be a dick. Guess I am missing something.

Edit: Oh the 4 batters that were up when they had the lead. That's a weird stat. Not sure what that shows.

I don't think there is anything really illuminating about it other than it is probably a weird quirk in a tight game. I just thought it was interesting.

I know managers/coaches will do the whole "make it about me or create a distraction" to keep all the pressure off the team, but Dusty is doing a terrible job of it. He gave his team an excuse, helped divide them and put a ton of pressure on Stras. There is no way things just played out like this. He helped create this off the field shit show. Just throw the first pitch already so we can get back to baseball.

Don't like this match up for Arietta. Nats offense is bound to break out and they are likely to get hitter's counts because of Arietta's inactivity.

ill defer to the weather experts but when i was leaving work around 4 it was coming down.....if they had started it at 1 what is the likelihood that they get the whole thing in without a stoppage ?

Incredible how locked in Murphy is on every pitch Arrieta has thrown the last 3 years.
