Bernstein/Blue Apron jokes aside...has anybody tried these?

I'm actually going to try all the major players over the next few weeks as they all give a big discount on your 1st order.
That way I can see which one I like the best.

My wife and I have done HelloFresh a few times. They always have pretty solid meals to choose from each week. You can always find discounts each week after the first week. We don't do it every week, but maybe once a month or so. It is really nice to not have to come up with something to make and create arguments on the choice

FYI, grocery stores do delivery and Blue Apron puts the recipes on their website. It's like 50% cheaper to do that but obviously less convenient.

We did Hello Fresh for a while.

The food is good. The prep time is twice what they tell you and the instructions can be insanely confusing leading to stress.

Ultimately, it was too stressful to have to cook the food in a certain number of days when you got home from work so we paused it for a while. We'd have stuff from 5 days ago that we felt obligated to make before it went bad.

If you have an hour to dedicate to cooking at night during the week, I would recommend it. The food is good if you follow the directions. Stuff you wouldn't make from scratch on your own. At least I wouldn't.

We did Blue Apron. I wasn't a big fan. My wife was indifferent. The dog liked it.

Mike is right. I left one of those ice packs to open air in my basement for 2 days and it was still damn near too cold to touch.

I think it is alien technology.

I did Freshly. We liked it but $$ and we inevitably wouldn't use all the food by the end of the week.

Wife and I liked it, kids HATED it.

I really don't get the point of them.

The biggest selling point of much of the area is the variety of carry out food. And niche through supermarkets available in most places if you are driving.

Plus I'm one of those people that often decides on dinner after 2-3pm most days

I'll come to your house, bring food, cook you dinner, and nail your old lady.

That's one of the packages. There are tiers.

I was hammered last night and posting in the wrong threads...

Here's the thing why I think it will make sense $$$ wise....My goal is to keep my wife out of the grocery store...the budget for a family of 4 for a week should be around $200 yet she manages to drop $250+ at the store..I have no fucking clue what she is doing. This is @ Marinao's not Whole Foods so I don't get it........so if we do a meal plan that's ~ $100-120 a week...and I can keep her from the fucking grocery store, I'm going to come out ahead. I'll run and get minor items for breakfast/lunch/drinks....etc..

These will in no way ever save you money. It's the equivalent of eating takeout every meal but you have to cook it yourself. It's like $10 a meal per person.

$250 for a family of 4 seems about right unless you eat Kraft Mac & Cheese and Pork n' Beans evey night.

Yeah.. I’m a family of 5 and depending on how much we are out during the week 250 would be a good week. My freaking kids are food disposals.

Tried Blue Apron...didn't like the spices they chose. As someone who knows his way around a kitchen, it's a waste.

We are not wasteful shoppers at all when we went for groceries. That said, you always come home with more than you intended. The stores are designed to lure you into it also.

Earlier this year we started to use the Walmart online shopping service. It is no charge, you order all your stuff online. Pick up your stuff on the side of the store. They load it and you are done.

Our costs really did drop and they unbelievably never made a mistake.

I really don't think groceries should be that god damn expensive. No wonder this country is fucking fat, fat, fat!
