Biggest difference in the series imo is..

Cubs 2 walks
Dosgers 13

I think the biggest difference in this series is that the 'Dosgers' have won 2 games, and the Cubs have won 0.

RFDC, ALCS Game 4 is tomorrow at 4:08 EST.

It wont go much beyond the 3-4 inning thing and you'll still have guys that go 6-7 innings, just not every day and every pitcher.

I'm usually all for the evolution of sports but I guess this is my first "old man yells at cloud" thing, but what the fuck? Effectively eliminating the Starting Pitcher from baseball seems like a dumbass idea I won't entertain regardless of if I have a choice or not.

Not really. The Cubs blew their load to beat the Nats and right now the Dodgers have more firepower. It's pretty much that simple.

I am not sure what Maddon can do when his starters waste too many pitches, no one in the bullpen is lockdown, and the hitters look lost.

BTW, the whole "Starting pitchers throwing less innings will destroy baseball" is a fucking stupid argument. Right now it's a recent trend, that is all. Secondly, teams/fans should embrace it. It's a helluva lot easier(esp for a small market team) to build these elite bullpens vs building a powerhouse rotation. Many prospects with good stuff that failed as starters can still be very good relievers. So, tone down the rhetoric a bit.

Cubs have 5 hits from non pitchers in the series and took the Dodgers until bottom of the 9th to win yesterday's game. Not sure how this is Maddons fault.

It's not. But I have hated the "all or nothing" approach all year, so I'd love to whack Malle this offseason. Many hitters on that lineup still have more growth to do professionally, even Kris Bryant. The lack of contact is killing them.

Because he pulled one of his only 2 decent relievers for an over the hill starter that gives up more HRs than almost anyone in the league.

Entering the series, Dodger pitchers had thrown 300+ pitches in the postseason, the Cubs 700+.

Would the Cubs have scored the next inning so Davis could close it out in the 10th? I doubt it. it was a dumb move but Joe Maddon isn't why they are down 2-0. It's the limp dick bats.

And it was all on display last night. Lester wasted so many pitches.

I mean...the Dodgers played 2 less games. Seems like an average pitch per game would be better here.

It's still bad.

Messi is the fourth most popular athlete for kids. RIP baseball.

DODGERS
126
143
114 (Darvish game)
Total 383 (average 128)

CUBS
128
133
140
189
191
Total 781 (average 156)

Totals got progressively worse, but basically the same through three games. The last two games were killer...almost 400 pitches spent while Dodgers rested.

Where does baseball rank once you subtract out all the gay kids that play soccer?

According to my research it goes like this:

Anthony Rizzo
Kris Bryant
Bryce Harper
David Ross
Steph Curry
Javy Baez
Conor McGregor
Wade Davis
LeBron James
Kyle Hendricks

I thought it was interesting this morning that I read the Dodgers relievers need only three more outs w/o a hit and they will have a "no hitter". The Cubs so far have zero hits off relievers in 8 innings worth of outs.

So... you guys think Maddon is doing a good job?

No. Started in the playoffs last year and continued throughout this season and postseason.

Well the Cubs had decent stats against the Nationals starters and couldn't hit them, so maybe having bad stats against Darvish means good things.

Hendricks going to need to go 7 innings and basically near perfect.

Hopefully a few bats wake up

Maddon said there'd be changes. Guessing he keeps Baez in for Hendricks groundballs.
