He's like Charlie from Flowers For Algernon. His IQ is shrinking by the minute. Just two years ago he was the best manager ever. He got dumb fast.

Drinking does bring on early dementia.

Joe's going to stay at least another year or two. You can argue Joe didnt have the tools like he did last year.

That first half of no lead off hitter you can't blame on joe. Experimenting with all he did you're still going to end up with shit when you have no lead off hitter in your lineup.

The "experiment" with Schwarber was completely fucking embarrassing on a professional sports level.

what else could he have done. I think in some ways the experimenting was a call for help or a FU to Theo for not getting a lead off hitter.

I wonder before the year they thought this would be a off year and surprised themselves the team got this far.

Jay seemed to do pretty well when he took it over. Almora seems like a great contact hitter. There were options. Joe was not good this year. You know this.

I don't think Maddon trusted Almora against righties this year.

love it how we keep swinging at first pitches this series and this year. last year we were patient and the starter would have like 60 pitches by the 5th. nope not this year.

I'm guessing he will be given the chance to be the everyday CF next year to see if he can be more than a platoon/def replacement

i dont know about that. I think you need to come into spring training with a bonafide lead off man. Or you're just repeating the same situation as this year.

I don't want to see Maddon experimenting next season. I want to see a set lineup and guys who know their roles.

Who's getting less playing time then between Almora, Happ, Jay, Schwarber if you bring in another leadoff guy?

Everything I've seen from Albert this year tells me he needs to be playing full time next year. I have no idea why you are against that.

i'm not against it i just dont know if it's time to do that next year. if you were going to do it it should have been this year.

just would be better to get a real lead off hitter in here. Plus I don't think all 4 of those guys will all be on the roster next year too.

Why should it have been done this year? You didn't know exactly what you had with Albert this year, but if Cubs management doesn't see potential all star after this season then they've lost their eye.
