Didn't know you were at the game, too. Woulda came over and congratulated you.

I'm not big Q fan. He's a good 3 I think.

As far as heart, he pitched pretty well his other two playoff starts

JORR it is hard to see your team knocked out. But never fear, our Cubbies will be back.

Us Cub fans need to stick together, we will help you through your pain.

Fair assessment. I said when he was traded for, that he was a 3, and some opined he was a 1 or 2. Not in a good rotation. When things go wrong, they can snowball quickly. He is on a team friendly deal and should eat innings and be over .500 with the Cubs each year. Just can't expect him to lead the team to a title, like an Arrieta or Lester when they are right.

Q isn't even in the top 5 Cubs responsible for this shitshow series.

Yeah you have to be blind or Jorr to have an issue with how Quintana pitched the last couple of months. The offense took the playoffs off. That was shocking.

What a time to be alive.

My oldest daughter is 7. In her life time the hawks have 3 Stanley cup titles, cubs have a World Series and 3 nlcs appearances and the White Sox should finally have top farm system they were desparetly after.

The starting pitchers were the only people who showed up for the playoffs. The bullpen and hitters were awful and Maddon was the worst.

Not really. A bunch of short efforts. But I guess that's more on the manager than the pitcher(s). And it isn't a Cub thing. It's happening with every team in the playoffs. It's like there's suddenly a wall at five innings. Six is a monumental effort. Verlander and Strasberg have been the only exceptions.

I believe that's the problem. We were told that Q was a #1 who was being wasted by the White Sox like we had some hidden gem that should have made things easy. I mean, Caller Bob literally thinks the Sox were dumb to trade Sale and Quintana and instead they should have built around them.

He's a pretty good pitcher who gets overrated because the math people have decided that certain things are more valuable than other things. I say this as a guy who liked Quintana and was rooting for him to do well with the Cubs.

There must be some data that says that's the way to go. It looked like Maddon was panicking and had no confidence in his starters. I think you have to go with your gut in the playoffs.

Quintana would have gone 7 mininum if it weren't for the butcher having 2 errors one routine fly ball.

That is when a bunch of numbers would get thrown out that put him as one of the top 15 pitchers in all of baseball.

Whenever it started I am sure it was a situation like the Cubs found themselves in. You get down by 2 in the third and fear you can't score enough. Panic and bring out the starters in relief. It really screws up your "normal" plans. Especially so in your next series if you advance. I think this happened to Kershaw last year or two.

He's definitely a #2 and showed that the last couple of months. He even pitched better or just as well as 2 of the top 3 pitchers in baseball during the playoffs.

It's not just WAR. And I wouldn't dismiss a thoughtful baseball fan as a "nerd". The problem is that we've just replaced the old hardheadedness with new hardheadedness. The idea that "W/L record is meaningless" or that "RBI is a useless stat" have been repeated so often by self-declared "smart fans" that to challenge such clearly idiotic notions is like saying the world is flat.

Here's a guy who considers himself a "smart" fan who actually doesn't grasp that one team's hitting is the other team's pitching:

Well, they absolutely had a need for a decent young starting pitching that was signed for a while. That's fine. I dont think Epstein and Hoyer will overvalue him. They know he's a 2/3.
