Never watched the show live. Just reruns when I was a kid. I'm watching the series now on Netflix. I just started the second season. Suddenly Dr Crusher is gone, they have a random bar that is tended by Whoopi and Riker has a beard. Also, I didn't realize that Tasha only lasted one season. I feel like she was on reruns all the time.

Keep an eye out for Dr. Pulaski’s drinking problem.

She’s always in 10 Forward pounding when she gets called to sickbay.

She's gonna catch these hands if she keeps being a Caller Bob to Data. Riker or LaForge are gonna put a hurting on her.

And her first appearance was in 10 Forward!! She never reported to the Captain.

Another question. What's the deal with the uniform color change for Worf and LaForge? They both went from red to gold. Also Worf changed his sash from gold to silver. They've changed too much on me from one season to the next!!

LaForge got promoted to Chief Engineer and Worf to Chief of Security both were Operations positions.

I don't really know what Worf's job was before Yar died. I don't think they did either.

So operations people wear gold? Why does Data, Is he Chief Science Officer?

Yeah. Worf was like Yar's sidekick who hung out on the bridge and growled from time to time. Yar's death was terrible though. A mean oil monster hit her.

Well it's not really a "good" show until season 3. And weirdly, Tasha is in what many consider the best TNG episode.

Season 2 is definitely a roller-coaster but there's some good stuff in there.

Measure of a Man might be the greatest ST episode of anything ever. Peak Performance and Q Who are very good.

But, then, you also have the Space Irish episode.

I had forgotten about the change in Doctors but remember now. I don’t think I’ve watched TNG for a dozen plus years probably. Maybe two dozen. I see it on BBC America from time to time but rarely pause. Might have to rectify that one day.

Anyone who watches Measure of a man and does not walk away going,Wow that is some great TV need a boot to the head. It usually ranks as either 2 or in fan polls as greatest all time episode, with #1 always being the dumbass finale. I am a Riker fan,I think it is one of his best episodes. He is forced to not only go against his captain but against one of his closest fiends and tries to demolish him and invalidate his friendship with him.

I rewatched it as well recently. I forgot how rough season 1 was. (mainly due a writer's strike that forced them to use recycled scripts from the never produced Phase II). You'll notice that Riker and Troi in season 1 are basically just Decker and Ilia from The Motion Picture.

I'd say the show gets very good in season 3 and stays that way through 6 before a drop-off in the final season.

I would still maintain DS9 was the best series as I honestly prefer long arcs over planet/entity of the week stories. Granted TNG at its best is Star Trek at its best.

I dare you to watch "The Inner Light" without shedding a tear. I just wish they delved into that deeper in terms of how that would impact Picard. I guarantee you he would rather live his life as Kamin with a family than his life as Jean Luc. As Kamin he gets everything he has given up for his Starfleet career and then has it all yanked away from him. I hear a tin whistle playing now... did it just get dusty in here?

Worf gets to go back to red on DS9.

DS9 took a while to get going too if my memory serves me correctly. Actually any of the newer series seemed to have that issue. I can’t say much for Enterprise as I never made the time to watch it. Wasn’t on st a good time out here.

I kept hoping for a downturn in luck for Marina Sirtis and the ensuing Playboy pictorial to get a look at those fun bags, alas it wasn't meant to be.

Go see Death Wish III

You'll thank me later. Let's just say she had her downturn in luck before being cast on TNG

DS9 had a better storyline as a serialized drama at the end.

But TNG had more likeable characters, which goes a long way when you have a story about an ancient Scottish rapist that lived in a candle.

Yeah, that was a great one.

I don't recall anywhere else in the series (outside of when it jibes with the episode's storyline) where Picard gets openly testy with Worf. All the man said was that Tarses refused to answer the question about his Romulan grandfather..."THAT IS NOT A CRIME, WORF." (It's also funny to imagine Bernstein saying the same line in his own staccato fashion)

And for the longest time I thought the "with the first link, the chain is forged" line was pulled from some court somewhere.

I always thought it was funny they had that Admiral guy come in and leave and never speak so they didn’t have to pay him extra.

Dr Pulaski brought a bottle of booze to a breakfast that Riker was preparing.

Doc Ken was right, this alcohol issue is a big deal.

She is the worst. I can't wait for Crusher to get back and for the other Crusher to get transferred to a Romulan pleasure house. Get that know it all off my bridge.

I’ve been watching Voyager.

I gave up after about 1-1/2 seasons originally.

I’m to the end of season 5. It’s pretty entertaining. Janeway is much more interesting than I would have thought and The Doctor and Seven are great characters.

Color me shocked. And Color Me Badd.
