Its also a different sugar that is much easier for your body to break down than the sugar that is in pop or candy.

This is as important a consideration as anything regarding the topic. Drinking orange juice affects your body considerably differently than eating a couple of oranges.

Why is life expectancy so much higher than it was before? I'll take my chances that a lot of sugar is bad for you.

Loving me some Hatchetman today.

I'll consider it a miracle that he isn't dead yet. Nobody can be willfully this stupid.

Well, maybe Seacrest

Let the record show ... heyyyyyyyyy say it like ya mean it that '1980' was a random choice ... I have no idea when BRick was born - nor do I know that he will snuff it this calendar year.

It's not the obvious sugary foods. It's the hidden stuff. It adds up quickly with things like bread, pizza, yogurt, a lot of canned vegetables, cereals, most frozen meals and other stuff. Even at 5mg at a time it adds up all day.

Pizza? Just how dumb are you presuming people are?(Putting it that way I guess I'm not even disagreeing, just curious)

Yep, all these years, I thought my daily consumption of pizza was helping me slim down. I guess not. Well, at least I can take solace in my nightly half gallon of Moose Tracks Ice Cream as part of my low calorie diet.

I assume most people don't think pizza is filled with sugar.

An entire large Papa John's works pizza contains 40g of sugar
A can of regular Coke contains 39g of sugar

I get what Rick's saying. Pizza is not something thought of as a "sugary treat" or anything.

I understand that in 1950. I have to assume any functioning adult is familiar with the concept of carbohydrates.

Yea, I dont know. It doesn't really matter because who eats pizza and thinks it's healthy?

On the other hand, pizza is almost always accompanied by a sugary pop.

I remember being surprised when my grandma said she put sugar in the pasta sauce....I thought she was just losing it.

I used to work at Papa John's back in the day. To make the sauce, you would open up 6 cans of tomato sauce, then dump in a giant bag of sugar.

And then use a Black & Decker drill with an attachment to mix it.
