The defense is proof that he can, below the radar, put together a collection of modest talents into a solid unit. Reaching back for Hicks appears to be a fabulous move, but that may be somebody else's projection from New Orleans and him sniffing around due to familiarity.

Dr. Ken, Dolphin & Seacrest (I believe) called Jordan Howard. I liked Floyd. And I think it's pretty well settled that he's started drafting complimentary pieces. Kevin White & (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky were his home run swings though, which doesn't appear to bode well.

Whitehair, Cohen, and Jackson appear to be solid players as well. They all have NFL caliber talent. I guess (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is all that is going to matter in the end. If he sucks, nothing else will matter. The Bears aren't winning a Super Bowl without a top 10 QB even with that defense. Kevin White is a damn shame. I hate when injuries derail a career.

And even if he became a star, JERRY traded him for Paul Konerko.

True, and that's exactly why I added the caveat "for the Sox". My oldest son still laughs at my prefacing any mention of Cameron, and later his son as "The Very Talented" (I asked him not to mention that when he was at a showcase game with Jr. a few years ago   )

Junior Lake was be the beginning of waves and waves of talent.

Aaron Rodgers would have a career year after dumping Yoko Munn and stop pretending to be straight

Theo would draft/develop pitching

The Hawks would be good after going on a spending spree for Khabi, LaPointe, and Aucoin.

Mike Cameron has twice the career WAR as Paul Konerko.

I said that Leonard Floyd was the one person I did not want at that pick in the draft.

I don't think he will ever be one of those intimidating on every down pass rushers but I do think he is going to be a double digit sacker who also has defensive skills all over the field. There was one play I believe in the Ravens game that was a WR screen where he went from rushing the passer at full speed to tackling the WR for a loss. He's a unique talent.

Whitehair, Cohen and a couple other mid round picks are good, as was Amos it seems. Eddie Jackson was a smart gamble that he'd recovered from his late season injury in Tuscaloosa and could return to form. Sitton was a solid pickup as well.

The problem is (as mentioned by a morning caller), if/when they get a legit offense, will they be able to afford the defensive guys, or will they age out? Especially the draft picks.

Sucks to play a position where everybody hits 25 homers every year.

I remember now. I was wrong about Turner. I didn't think he could single handedly knock out the 2017 Cubs from the playoffs.

No, I didn't. It's just that I don't trust him at big times. I think he has a little of the wrong kind of Vontaze Burfict in him.

Beckham is a good choice as well. I, along with many others, thought he was going to be a stud.

Derrick May and Jerome Walton were going to be multiple time all stars

I was wrong about Tim Tebow. I really thought he could round-out into a guy that could play in the league.

He was always a fun player to watch athletically. I admit defeat.

His arm was shit, though. He could throw hard. Somewhere.

 Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list all my bad calls. A few that come to mind that haven't been previously mentioned are:

* I thought Mike Martz was a good OC hire.
* During one of his personal life slumps, I think when the picture of him at UW-Madison came out, I wanted the Hawks to trade Patrick Kane 'while they could get something for him.'
* I was thrilled with the Kordell Stewart acquisition.
* I thought it was dumb to activate Kyle Schwarber for the world series.

That someone other than Nas was going to be the loudest (early) agitator at last March's aborted Trump rally.

That Ryan Pace was a complete failure in waiting as GM who could never grow into the job. Ever. (He's not complete) :eye:

I brought MANY people together that day. #USA Had a couple of brothers contemplating about taking a shot at me.

I've commented a bit on this in other threads. Do you at least see some signs that he can evaluate talent, the Glennon signing notwithstanding?

The defense is proof that he can, below the radar, put together a collection of modest talents into a solid unit. Reaching back for Hicks appears to be a fabulous move, but that may be somebody else's projection from New Orleans and him sniffing around due to familiarity.

Dr. Ken, Dolphin & Seacrest (I believe) called Jordan Howard. I liked Floyd. And I think it's pretty well settled that he's started drafting complimentary pieces. Kevin White & (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky were his home run swings though, which doesn't appear to bode well.

I’m not convinced that Jackson is all that good. He had one remarkable game from a statistical standpoint but the actual plays were somewhat “right place right time”. He looked utterly lost on the long pass play in the 4th yesterday.

As to the OP - I once wrote to the Sportswriter’s show that the Bulls should trade a young Pippen for Willie Anderson.

If there were ever anyone who could be right even 60% of the time, gambling would cease to exist. Instead, even the most informed will hover around 50% most of the time and will also forfeit the juice on every transaction.

Britney Spears is one I got right. I was talking on the phone the first time I saw the video for "Baby one more time" on TV. I literally said "Who is this? This girl is going to be a big star." The Catholic school girl uniform got my attention in the video but I made my prediction based on her singing, dancing, and that cute, girl-next-door look she had.
