No one seemed to be having more fun in retirement than Roy Halladay. Tragic.

That is turrible. Seems like he was finally living his dream after retirement. I hate to say it but at least he passed doing
something he loved. Obviously feel awful for his wife and two sons. From everything I've read, he was a really good guy.

Sad. He was the ace on my keeper league baseball team for a lot of years. Loved watching him pitch. He used to use the rarely used Palm Ball.

Seems to me like he was still pitching I’d hear his name so often.

He's the answer to a few trivia questions.

Last no hitter in post season
Cy Young in both leagues

"Dead" dead.

Proper Dead.

Dead.

RIP

I saw him pitch once vs. Buehrle. It was a 6 pm Saturday start on fireworks night. I think both of them threw complete games and the fireworks started with the suns till out as the game was about 2 hours in duration.

That sucks. Hope he gets into Cooperstown posthumously, even though baseball-reference has him in Mike Mussina pitcher purgatory. Hard to argue against him being one of the very best pitchers of the 2000s.

Well hell then.

Strange how big a difference there was with his pitch control while on the mound compared to his pitch control while flying a plane.

because Cooperstown is dumb and overvalues W-L

He won 200 games. That's a lot of games nowadays. He's in. He has got to be.

So they overvalue W-L and still don't think a .659 winning percentage is good enough? I doubt that.

I dunno, his comps are all HOVGers like Oswalt, Guidry, Mussina, Gooden, and Hudson. Though maybe Tim Hudson will get in and the point will be moot. But I think he should get in. The short-term high-profile dominance with Philly probably overrides the long-term low-profile dominance with Toronto.

If we are going to lower standards that much, there's about 50 guys that would deserve to go in before Halladay.

Incidentally, Mussina actually should get in before Halladay, that he's not in baffles me.

This particular model of ICON aircraft crashed 20 minutes after take off back in May, during the development phase:

so the prototype crashes and then the first production craft crashes as well.

Ridiculous.

Halladay is a lock.

Cy Young in both leagues, finished in top 5 of Cy Voting 7 times.

162 game average of 17-9 with a 3.38 ERA and much of it in the Steroid era AL East.
