Bottomless fries should be mandatory for all restaurants that offer fries at all on the menu, so Red Robin gets points for being #SoBrave enough to do it. I think it's always been that way. And it will remain that way.

burger-wise, it's decent. there are some overpriced "high quality" burgers that i'm sure are...great...but, no thanks on paying $15 to find out.

The $6.99-$7.99 variety are just fine, and with the fries, it's a pretty good deal. Throw in a shake (but not multiple shakes, that's breaking bad), and it's a decent meal.

They seem to have redesigned their place from a diner-like setting to that post-modern shit I've seen other restaurants try, as some reinvention gimmick. it's a bit lame, atmosphere-wise. but thanks for the TV's. more sports viewing is good.

Why, I like this place. Oak Brook Center is the shit now with the new AMC IMAX.

Capital Grille:

Wagyu Burger with truffle fries and a glass of Caymus Cab for $25. You can't beat that deal.

Kuma's - $15 burger and the hostess kicks you in the balls before seating you.

Fuck Red Robin. Crap food.

For a burger place, Meatheads is the best.

If I want to pay top dollar, I'll go to Saddle Room in Hoffman Estates and build a Kobe burger.

I have never had such poor service from a restaurant. The hostess had a bad attitude, and our server was completely useless. I had to flag down another server just to get a drink refilled. Our server was leaning against a wall with her phone in her hand while she had a conversation with a co-worker. I always tip well when I get great service. I left her zero tip. I'm sure she MF'd me the rest of the day. Lazy millennials.

The food was pretty bland on top of it.

Have one about half a mile from me that we will go to occasionally. I'm with W_Z as far as avoiding the expensive craft burgers.
They have a pretty big variety, I'll give them that. They serve Lagunitas on tap by me so I give them points there. The fish
and chips is pretty good although I think they kind of skimp on the amount of fish they give you. That is made up for by the bottomless
fries. Middle of the road overall.

Are you going to the Cantera one? That's been the case since I worked there in high school in 03

Meh

Gone there twice. Decent burger but not worth the price. Both times, the server took a while to give us more fries. My burgers at home are just as good at a 1/3 of the price.

Anyone ever eat at The Ram by Woodfield?

Everytime we go in there, the service sucks but the food is really good. The wait time is past the normal time, too.
I think part of the problem is the place is huge and the servers have all kinds of places to hide.

I told my kids and wife, last time was the last time for me. Too many other places fighting for my dollar to settle for shit service.

The one in Wheeling is better with the service and the food is pretty good. The beer is meh at best, though...

Red Robin blows. My daughter loves eating there, so it's usually a Tuesday night spot for mom to take her while I'm at bowling.

I ate at RR once. Someone gave me a gift card because I was a valued customer that year or something. It was fine. Nothing I’d seek out but better than most of the options for food in the area I was in. The Quad cities aren’t exactly busting with options for burgers. (Although there are better options).

Been there a few times and you are correct. Great food and terrible service every time.

That's the one. I went one time. If I was looking to eat over there, I would go to Rock Bottom, Twin Peaks, or Chuy's before I went to Red Robin.

RAM has decent beer. It's not amazing, but it's pretty good for $5 a growler. 71 Pale Ale, Buttface Amber, and Big Red's IPA are fine.

The food is o.k., it's bar food. the wife worked at the Wheeling and Woodfield locations when we first started dating.

Bottomless fries are meaningless if they are the shitty variety served by RR. Now if Meatheads or Five Guys wanted to offer unlimited... I'd just move in and live there.
