This story does facinate me.

You know Trump ain't gonna lift a finger to get 3 young brothers out of China. Like Bernstein said, China is gonna want money or an exchange. Or both. We're gonna have to give them a Chinese guy in one of our prisons.

1. Don't shop lift.

2. Don't shop lift in China.

3. Especially don't shop lift in China if you're black and Donald Trump is the President of the United States.

Rules one should live by.

This sounds like the title of a terrible Cedric the Entertainer movie.

That just shocked me.

Bernstein said he didn't have cable as a kid. Nor did they have a microwave.

Daddy Bernstein couldn't spring for that? He had the money to send Dan to Duke for the love of God. Yet no cable? No microwave? Dan Bernstein had to be the only kid in Deerfield without cable in the late 70s and 80s.

When did Cable come out? I'm younger then Bernstein. So maybe you're right. Bernstein is 48. Didn't they have cable in the mid 70s? He would have been 7 or 8 around then.

I know the microwave came out in 1967. Most people had one by the mid 1970s. I googled it.

Yeah, we got it in the summer of '87. It was weird finally having cable. First movie I watched: Maximum Overdrive.

Mid 70’s for me...Murder By Death was the only movie I recall watching.

We couldn’t get it. You had to spring for real satellite tv and Squirrel Sr was having none of that bullshit. Directv saved some when it showed up but the old man didn’t even spring for that until 5 or 6 years ago when he retired.

I think we got a Microwave around 1988 when dad got one for mom for Christmas. A true romantic is he.

Now I’m one of those bizzare houses that don’t have one.

I graduated HS in 1984. Cable wasn’t in our northwest suburb then. Only option was ON TV—me and my friends would watch “split screen” porn without the ON TV box. Wasn’t that an Eddie Einhorn business or somehow tied to the Sox?

I also got my parents a science oven after I finished college. They enjoyed “zapping” their food.

The Sox were put on “on tv” I believe. My wife says her family had it. I think I vaguely remember it’s existence.

Nothing like turning the volume way up as you could hear a bit of the commotion. Except you had to ale sure you didn't get caught by the WSNS legal ID at the top of the hour in full volume. That'll wake the whole house up.
