Can I setup my patio furniture in there or is that too hillbilly?

When it is cold do you keep the garage door open?

How emotional will I get? Will I consider the fact that every person I have ever known and will ever know will one day die?

These are deep questions, and your journey is just beginning. There is much for you to discover. Take your time and enjoy the experience.

Your second question, though... were you planning on sitting with the door down? Because that’s pretty extreme, even for veterans.

The first thing you do is hang a giant rebel flag on your garage wall.

If he doesn’t already have one hanging, he’s not suited for this sort of thing.

Can I come over and watch the rain with you? I'll bring my own rebel gear.

Me or Rick? You’re welcome here, but your Phish albums might get us shot by the neighbors. Then again, they’d love the weed.

Bring the weed and rebel gear, leave the Phish CDs. Check.

I get the feeling leash is about to write a 2017 version of Walden. Walden; or Life in the Garage

There are a few items that give you garage cred. They are very specific.

Hedge trimmers = 1 point
Shovel = 1 point (bonus for ergonomic shovel)
Broom = 1 point
Heavy Duty extension cord = 2 points
Loppers = 2 points
Electric trimmer = 2 points
100-ft extension cord = 3 points
Built-in shelving = 3 points
Chainsaw = 4 points
Electric chainsaw = -5 points (and hide the gay mags)
Snowblower = 5 points (bonus for an Ariens; double bonus for a 2-stage)
Mounted deer rack = 5 points
Loaded shotgun = you make the rules so who gives a fuck

No bonus points for a 24 foot extension ladder? Damn, there’s some wasted money.

Used oil barrel with holes punched in it for ventilation, aka burn barrel. Really would recommend against with door closed though.

How many points do I get for having a Bears jersey hanging up? That's gotta be at least 10 points, yea?

I wouldn't do any garage sitting without one of these. That's how they do it around my neck of the woods.

And points for having the walls insulated. Bonus points if it is a detached garage.

You absolutely have to have an old stereo + cd-player combo out there. That's a must. And then once your garage hangout gets trendy you gotta insulate that bitch and bring in a TV.
