Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and a biscuit. That's the power trio and their roadie right there.

Easter

Why?

For me either lamb chops or roast lamb makes the easter meal one of the year's best.

It's a complete waste of time. If someone cooks, we get ham :pukel: . If we go out, we get a shitty set menu where everything is overpriced or overcooked...or worse, a brunch buffet. All because the Romans killed an activist. Also, it's always a Sunday.

Turkey, Stuffing, and Mashed potatoes were the hookers Meatpants hired to try and get a 4 way going with The Biscuit. Thus the reason she's now an ex-wife.

Thanksgiving is also a great time to celebrate the most dominating victory in American history over the American Indians.

thanksgivings won't be the same now...but i still love the 4 day weekend.

funny that everybody keeps mentioning the football. so many times, it's the worst football day of the year. MANY years of uninteresting games, blowouts, and the nightcap is always up against a family movie.

"wizard of oz" is a nice tradition though.

and of course...MST Turkey Day; but that's usually over by early evening.

Best part of Thanksgiving food is the leftovers. A turkey melt sandwich with gravy poured over it is the best.

You're right. I started seeing this a few years back.

I buy turkey from the deli to make sandwiches. I don't hate turkey on Thanksgiving, I would just rather eat something else. If my wife insisted on a turkey, I wouldn't fight it.

Of course Easter food sucks. One of the courses is the DNA of Jesus! It's science!

Man, I'd think the DNA of Jesus would be some sort of health code violation...

It's really not Thanksgiving unless my dad and his sister end up in a drunken argument.

Edit; Sorry, I didn't see Z mentioned the (mostly) bad football.

Its still part of the tradition to have football on the television during Thanksgiving. Even non-football fans seem to at least mildly enjoy it.

A few years ago I had to do 5 thanksgivings in a week span. In laws (Two homes), my family, a church thing and a school thing. Let me tell you, that was god awful and most of the turkey was horribly prepared and dry. I swear some of the turkeys had to be cooked a week before the meals it was like a dry version of turkey Jerky.. Hey, put some shit canned gravy on it, that will make it better. I like good turkey but yikes, my sister in law can't cook and my my mother in law has lost it. At least my brother has moved on from having turkey for Christmas/his birthday meal. That helped. A lot.

Same.

Was just saying that to my daughter yesterday.

She's like "who is Furious Styles?"

So she's grounded and writing a 5 page paper on Boyz n the Hood, now.

Thanksgiving is easily the second most overrated holiday in terms of food.

No. Best holiday, both in terms of food and overall.

Clearly you are doing it wrong. No canned ham. No going out for overpriced sunday buffets. EVER. Not just on easter. EVER.

Instead next Easter you volunteer to cook. Make this and thank me later: http://amazingribs.com/recipes/lamb/rac ... ipops.html

I like how one of Boyd's complaints was that "Easter is always on a Sunday"

That damn Independence Day! Always falls on the fourth!

No point to a "holiday" if it doesn't result in either a) a day off work, or b) is remotely enjoyable (i.e. Halloween, St Patrick's Day)

We've fried a turkey twice, and I bought one from the local bar that specializes in smoked foods, I prefer the fried turkey of those two, but I will say it is even better when my wife makes one in the roaster. Stuffing inside and extra in the oven.

This will be an odd year, as my Mom is taking the train to DC to be with my sister, and my wife and kids are all heading to Milwaukee to be with MIL. I get to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

Looks like champagne and hookers for me!
