I used to cook multi course meals for mine and my wife's family using the good crystal and china. We would have different wines and liquors and a whole theme for the night. Everyone's kids have taken away the ability to do it but I am at the point where I rarely cook ever anymore. I'm still pretty good at throwing together leftovers into a new and interesting meal if I have the time

Best meal I ever had must have been somewhere in Italy, but they were all pretty great. It isn't even a comparison the average restaurant there versus here and I wasn't eating at upscale places. Even the few family meals I was invited to were fantastic.

It was a Tuesday in June.

Cold pizza. Thin, square cut.

Nondescript sauce. Detectable notes of part skim mozzarella.

Green peppers, canned olives.

Ham, possibly Canadian bacon.

Utterly and instantly fogettable, but for the note attached to the styrofoam clamshell container.

We went to a really nice steakhouse in NYC. It's the kind of place that you have to buy a $10 bottle of water or you don't get a drink and sides are like $15 for a baked potato. There were a lot of different options and I don't even remember what type of cut the meat was but I figured for $90 it better be amazing. I ordered it. The waiter asked how it should be cooked. I said "well done" please. When it came, I asked for a side of ketchup and dipped every piece of well done steak into it. Honestly, I think I enjoyed the potato the most. I don't really understand why it was so expensive. It was kind of dry and a little tough. Next time I'll probably just go to Applebees as they seem to be able to cook a steak properly.

Speaking of Applebee's I had a pretty good steak there last week. WOULD order it again next time I am in bumblefuck USA. Good green beans too.

Pork chop in green peppercorn sauce in Prague. Tried to replicate when we got back and failed miserably.

Soup is not a meal.

I'm afraid to ask what this is.

I had wild boar in Prague. It was really good too but I haven’t tried to replicate it.
