The concept is sound. The execution seems flawed.

It's about thinking critically.

When is the last time you did long division on a piece of paper? I haven't in decades.
When is the last time you thought critically and tried to problem solve? With a few exceptions, everyone on this board does every day.

It shouldn't be implemented till middle school. It has no place in 1st grade.

We already did this thread.

It's definitely flawed, but when one generation learns a different way than their parents, there are bound to be issues.

Pretty much. The way they taught my kids to me seemed weird and foreign. They now do calculus calculator free so whatever works.

You get used to seeing it in their homework and what they want to see.

We are making math great again! Next is English. I hate when my driver pulls up to an ATM and they ask me English or Spanish? I like Tacos very much, but I don't pay in pacos! Everyone should learn the language. I understand not everyone is going to be as skilled in the English language as I am, but I have a higher I.Q then most and the dumb people shouldn't feel bad. At least they will be able to order a Big Mac without having to visit a MCDonalds in little Mexico.

This is true for a lot of things. I learned about the Central Limit Theorem thanks to that eccentric fucker.

I mean math is math right? 9 three ways is always 3 no matter how you get there isn't it?

Theoretically, but the only correct way to get to it is the drawn out, dumbass, common core process.

Thanks, Obama.

That video gave me brain cancer.

The fractions question part was the only useful 10 seconds. I like the idea of testing that way.
