Over the past few days Dan and Jason have been going off on Tennessee's fan base being able to get a coach fired soon after he was hired. I agree with them Schiano was/is a piece of shit and didn't deserve to be hired. And I also agree that a bunch of college kids shouldn't have that kind of power and that universities should not base their decision making on that. However, Dan of course failed to connect it to the larger issue.

Dan was blaming college fans for being sycophants, but Dan failed to connect the way these whiny entitled college kids are with all the other protests that colleges have been partaking in whether it comes to removing confederate statues or students and players at Missouri demanding the president and chancellor step down. It's funny that Dan gets all upset about this behavior when it comes to something he despises - radical fan bases. But he either stays silent or supportive when the rabid college protesting is part of a cause he agrees with.

Entitled millennials removing chancellor over perceptions of racial inequality = good
Entitled millennials removing head coach at Southern redneck university = bad

Addressing the bigger issue falls outside the scope of Dan's Johari window

You took the words right out of my mouth. Why does this rednecks = literally Hitler argument have such a stranglehold upon the elite? Especially after people have been pointing out its flaws for years.

Never heard of that .... I don't know how effective an exercise it might be, but it's rather interesting.

It's a good thought experiment. I find it useful when trying to discern my own biases or blind spots.

Removing Confederate statues does not belong in that paragraph. There is no good argument to keep them or to even erect them in the first place.

Disagree partially, but that's a debate for another thread.
