Pretty good game. I like Illinois' energy on offense. Haven't had that in a decade.

Jordan's really come alive this year. Quite naturally.

Bad loss by Illinois. WF is horrific.

I can still remember being at Joe's Stone in 2004, watching Illinois completely dismantle No. 1 ranked Wake Forest and having the feeling that wow, this team has potential. So sad they could not close the deal.

They'll make up for it against Grand Canyon.

He had a good game.

Finke: 2 points.

Leron: Missed nine shots.

Just not seeing much consistency out of either guy. Finke needs to learn to score from inside, too. The threes are nice, but . . .

They aren't a good team. But they are young.

I just think at least it's an entertaining team to watch unlike when they were losing 37-31 in the lean Bruce Weber years.

They will continue to have issues against teams with size inside. They do not have any good bigs who want to play inside (Finke is like a Euro big man who wants to take 3s). Not sure anyone else has two 7 footers like WF, though.

Didn't get to watch the game but read in the recap on ESPN that they were leading the nation in creating turnovers and points off turnovers
so if they are small this year at least he has them playing some defense. Hopefully he can recruit and develop some better shooters and
get some size with time.

There was a very Bears moment in the game last night.

WF guy had the ball and threw elbows wildly as the ILL guy fell to the floor and they called an offensive foul. They went to the monitors to see if it was a flagrant and after about 4 minutes came back and said "no foul". Then, WF hit a 3 to go up 5, I think, at the time.

John Fox should be fired.

Never seen them take a foul away upon review. I don't even think they are allowed to do that.

But was his foot out of bounds before hitting the pylon?

I looked at rankings for the first time today. How can Illinois not only be unranked at 8-1 but not even in the “others receiving votes”?

They are 6-1, haven't played anybody, and just lost their only road game so far.

They aren't very good and people know it.

Yeah, they have had an unusually weak early schedule filled with multiple creampuffs. They usually have at least a couple of decent matchups but
I don't believe they played in any Thanksgiving tournaments in which you can get a decent opponent. They probably weren't invited to any

Looking forward to my first look at the Underwood lead Illini tonight. Should be a decent test for them with the Cats being 5.5pt
favorites on a neutral Allstate floor.

I found it to be like being in two stadiums (a). The seating area is nice for the fan. The footprint is small so all seats are right on top of the court. It has the feel of one of those old venues built on campus that were true home court advantages for the team. You can see that there is zero room for the cheerleaders and press. I expect either them or a player to get hurt in the future.

The concourse design is horrible. It seems like there is only one ingress/egress to the whole stadium so it is perpetually clogged throughout. Food service was pathetic with loooong lines even during the middle of a half.

Pretty good chance, too naturally. #itwasthe90s

I haven't seen Finke make a 3 all year.

I like how the D is making them chew up time before they get into their offensive set.

Interesting. It seems like they really wanted to get those windows in the seating bowl, I wonder if they sacrificed a usable concourse for that.

The refs really want people to know they are there. Both sides.

Awful.

Solid half.

If Illinois were better, they'd be up by quite a bit more.

Hot take.

I like the energy by Illini. Underwood looks like a thinner yet older Chris Farley. Can't figure out how he has scared these guys into playing intense defense. I like the hustle even though they have no studs on site. Didn't realize Frank Williams son was on the court until I put two and two together. He has a nice build for a small forward. Anyway I think they are playing weak and have less size than I thought but they are playing hard and I like the back court action

They are definitely better than they have any right to be. I hope Underwood isn't sent to prison for recruiting violations in a previous life anytime soon.

I think they could be special in 2 years.

The worst part of this game is the god awful call. Who is this color man? He was honestly calling
For the repeal of the charge call. He later admitted he was an idiot for even suggesting it but
It was a really bad take.

He made five or six against NC-Central! And is about 2-138 otherwise.

It's a bit troubling that a standard zone defense has them confounded.

Even a young Dr. Ken knew how to stand at the top of the lane and direct some O against the zone.
