We tried his place, and it was very good.

I'm of two minds on that.

Christkindlmarket!

Not sure if you want to have dinner there, but great place to stop for a warm cider while you are down there and already in the x-mas spirit.

I'm not sure how Christmas-y it is, but I like The Gage on Michigan between Madison/Monroe for hearty winter fare. I've heard that they have a sister restaurant called The Dearborn on Block 37, but I've never been there.

The original Heaven on Seven on Wabash is open for lunch Monday through Saturday.

dolphin's neighborhood is too white for Elmhurst Steve.

He recommended Berghoff's a couple of years ago and it was good. He didn't show up, stiffed RR on his birthday, but the food and company was good so all was forgotten. Until you brought it up Doc.

Perhaps a live remote for your podcast?

You could try The Walnut Room if you are looking for something quintessentially Chicago Christmas.

I don't particularly like the food or the crowds but my in laws demand the family goes every year.

Χριστος was regularly abbreviated with χ or χρ .... there's nothing wrong at all with XMas. I don't happen to prefer it, but the only reason MANY care is because they're gullible enough to buy into the whole idea of this 'war on Christmas' bullshit which is roughly six miles south of Tardville.

Get there early. The place only seats about 6.

My favorite place in the world to eat.

Tell Jimmy that Doc says hello.

And then tell him who Doc is.

Thanks,

So what are your thoughts on Channukah?

All solid ideas so far.

Anyone been to Boni Vino on Lake. It looks like a nice restaurant with a bar where traders get drunk in the afternoons

There's one on Lake? The one on Van Buren is a shithole, but it's been around forever. Might be a front for the mob.

Yeah, it's on Van Buren.

That might be the place my partner, sini, Furious, and I went after McNuggets 80. I was pretty blind so I'm not sure. I just remember shooting Maker's Mark and my partner and I dancing in the middle of the restaurant to pop hits whilst all the diners stared at us.
