What a difference a year makes. Last year at Real Time Sports the holiday show have some energy to the room. It might have been due to Terry's final live remote, but it was fun. If you were there, you got to say goodbye to Terry, you were able to drink with Barry, you got to see Matt Spiegel stair at the claw machine wasted!
This year, eh. Dull, boring, (pushes the who cares sound drop). There were only two highlights, one of them happen to be trading a table for appetizers! I wanted to get there before the 12:40 segment of the Parkins and Spiegel show, see Bears legend Patrick Mannelly, and possibly turn my Uber app and take Park Park to Midway. Seriously, Addison to MDW! That's a good fare dude. Sadly, I got there at transition, it was okay. As soon as the segment ended, Bears legend Patrick Mannelly got himself a cold draft beer and Matty went off to a corner part of the room.
I only listen to the first segment of B&G, mainly for the sound drops. You'll be missed Sports Pope. As the show went off to a Bears daily snooze fest... I mean update, highlight 2 took place. A not so friendly dude goes up to a table steps away from the "stage," leans in and said a few words to Dan and Jason. According to a man, whose table was a lot closer than me said this fellow, mid 30's white dude who had Bears legend R.W. McQuarters' style band-aid under both eyes(I kid you not)had some racials comments toward Goff. Before you know it, the trash talk escalated to Jason getting up and confronting the man face to face, couple people had to intervene, including Vincent Goodwill, a couple of dudes, and Bears legend Patrick Mannelly. Where was Dan you ask? Ha! Sitting in his broadcasting position What a partner! If memory serves there was two rounds of confrontions during the 1:30 update prior to this loser finally leaving the restaurant. I'm convinced if no one, including Bears legend Patrick Mannelly step in, this guy might have taken a swing at Goff. He was already inebriated and dumb enough to throw the first punch. Was this included in the video stream?
