Went back and skimmed this thread. It's a really good thread. My favorite parts were when he responded to one black girl's selfies with "you're stunningly pretty, I'm not a creep" and to another's with "dayum."

Yeah. It's ruined now. It was one of my favorite threads to check. Hey, getting a guy fired because he talks like a moron on the internet is good for society.

Yeah, I think I made at least three pleas to keep online life separate from real life. Oh well.

Wait what? Didn’t all of us learn very early on not to post shit online that you wouldn’t say around people in person? That it could easily come back to bite you? I mean... this is like the first rule of using the internet.

I'm guessing most guys on the CFMB Facebook group would disagree.

There’s not much to disagree with there. As I said, it’s common sense.

Well yeah, I was told not to be irresponsible, but 2000s forum culture was such that you were essentially playing a character and always doing bits. If you found something embarrassing out about a person's real life, you'd bust his balls, but you wouldn't call his boss.

and you can still do that by posting here under a screen name or posting on twitter as an anon. BRougue regularly does so with anon accounts such as the now deceased Remo Williams.

So let's dig deep and find it in ourselves to have the marginal moral high ground over a dope like Quad City Pat.

I'm personally not one to dox, but I can see the reasons it was done here and I also see the reasons why other board members did this to someone else here. I can certainly understand the reasons and motivations.

Would you feel the same way if someone used postings on here to try and get a member of the Facebook group fired?

Pat was stupid to do what he did on twitter. That doesn't mean you try and ruin a guys life because you are mad that he is an SJW, or a B&B caller, or you are pretending that you care about the children who are being abused in the Quad Cities being subject to his intervention.

You have to understand how these things are different. MANY of us have met. This isn't some random a/s/l chat room. You expect to get shit. But you don't expect someone to get you fired. That's a very reasonable expectation.

Do we even know if it was someone on the board? How do you know it isn't one of the people who has told to fuck off on Twitter? That seems far more likely to me

Yes I would feel the same way. I didn’t think I was posting feelings. I thought I was just posting an objective reality we should all have been very aware of a long time ago.

So, just to be clear, if I had a problem with a poster on here, and I joined the Facebook group and got the personal information of someone and contacted their employer to try and get them fired you would say that it was alright for me to do?

He routinely trashes random people he encounters on Twitter with vulgarity. He hadn't really posted anything noteworthy (at least to us) recently so given the timing I'd think he said the wrong thing to the wrong person and they sent screenshots. Perhaps even someone dealing with him IRL via his work got fed up and did it. This is the type of guy who make enemies. he brags about disowning half of his family.

Well that’s not the same thing. Nobody had to “get the personal information” of QCP.

I’ll help you with the analogy. Let’s say you have the personal info of IMU because of the work you guys did on the board. Then IMU repeatedly says a bunch of vile shit on here that could get him fired. You call his boss or whatever and inform him of it. Imu gets fired.

In the above scenario I would pretty much just call you a loser but no, I wouldn’t be defending IMU. He should’ve known better.

I didn’t think what I was saying would be controversial or arguable. How is all of this not obvious?

Didn't someone point out the name of his department yesterday and say someone should call and then 2 hours later he posted that someone called his office?

In what passes for evidence in the current day's court of public opinion, that's like having 3 videos, 7 witnesses, and a confession. I'd guess it was someone here.

Was it even a poster? I'm sure we have plenty of lurkers here, also I doubt the OIG or any government agency could ever move that fast so that if something was reported yesterday, it would be dealt with today. Try 3 months, heck, maybe 6, this is Illinois after all.

You said nobody had to get it. I don't know his personal information outside of his screen name and presumably his twitter account name that would show up.

Just like I don't know the last names of most people on here. I'm sure if I dug into facebook I'd figure it out though.

How do you think?

he literally posts it all the time, all you have to do is find one of the articles published on 670's website that Bernstein promotes

I know his first name, what he looks like, where he works, and his twitter handle, all because he offered this up publicly. You don’t need more than that to make a call to whatever office or was and say hey, check this out please.

That's why I used the Facebook group analogy, because I'm pretty sure there are last names there.

I understand that the detective work isn't hard, but it's not hard for many others on here too.

That's just the ultimate point. Should we be trying to ruin the personal lives of online friends/enemies? My answer is no.

Just so you all know I know the guy. When I bartended at the Jolly Roger in downtown Rock island, he was a semi regular. loud obnoxious guy. I don't know what club he goes to now that all the Illinois ones are closed but with his preferances I would think it would be Amsterdam in Davenport. Mostly black dancers.

Plus, remember his tweet about someone sending in a complaint to the Iowa side of the river and them forwarding it to him and he was laughing his ass off about it?

You said nobody had to get it. I don't know his personal information outside of his screen name and presumably his twitter account name that would show up.

Just like I don't know the last names of most people on here. I'm sure if I dug into facebook I'd figure it out though.

I know his first name, what he looks like, where he works, and his twitter handle, all because he offered this up publicly. You don’t need more than that to make a call to whatever office or was and say hey, check this out please.

I understand that the detective work isn't hard, but it's not hard for many others on here too.

That's just the ultimate point. Should we be trying to ruin the personal lives of online friends/enemies? My answer is no.

I agree, my stance is more “wow that guy’s a loser” then “wow that is seriously fucked up”
