Still waiting

Coming into his own as a receiver, and has improved exponentially as a blocker.

He's only playing because of injuries. I hope that is only because the coaching staff is full of idiots. I haven't been impressed so far.

He looks like a dime a dozen type big, slow TE. Probably a wasted draft pick. Might be an ok player though.

I don't think so. He'll be lucky to have the career of Richard Rodgers.

Rodgers can't block, and his stat line yesterday was 1/5yds.

The Bears obviously made the right choice for a TE during the last off season. And Teddy T's miss on Bennett will make him less likely to dip into the FA pool again.

He's starting to look like he belongs in the league. This is looking like Paces 1st good draft as far as I'm concerned.

But I don't want to get ahead of myself here either. Dude needs to be consistent and stay healthy, but he's been looking more and more like an NFL TE as the season moves along for sure.

I think Pace had a talk with Fox/Loggains this past week about him not playing.

Floyd, Whitehair, Bullard, and Howard is a solid, solid haul for one draft. Kwiatkowski is a guy who can be in the league. Nice draft.

Tru, Shaheen, Jackson, Cohen is a solid start to this last draft.

Bullard and Kwiatkowski are only starting on a bad team because of injuries. Whitehair is a good pick imo, tho he's had an up and down season -Floyd (a top 10 pick we traded up for) has not played up to that value and has been unable to finish his only 2 seasons in the league so far, so he gets graded on a curve. He is a solid starter tho, who's specialty is valuable, but I feel he needs another player of equal or greater skill opposite him to make him look better rather than being able to do it on his own.

Howard is good, no argument. Especially from a value standpoint when his draft position is considered.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Jackson and maybe Shaheen all have potential to be game changing type players (I'm stretching this for Shaheen to boost my argument, don't judge me lol). And I like Cohen for what he is -an effective scat back who has the big play ability to change a game but can't carry the load like a Howard could.

Here's the thing tho, how much of the good we're seeing out of some of these guys (especially on defense) is due to coaching up from a veteran coaching staff? And how much if this 'hey, these guys are out there starting games' is due to them just being on a bad team in the 1st place where a low bar for that standard has been set. Sorry, I'm not impressed right now with the Bullards and Kwiatkowski's of this team, they're just guys imo. Paces 1st two drafts were put together a bit haphazardly and without a plan in place imo. This last draft makes a little more sense than those 1st two and we have 4 guys all playing as rookies right now out there making a difference and looking like they're part of the future of the team. I can't argue that Bullard and Kwiatkowski are permanent solutions at their positions right now, and I don't think that's a stretch or dishonest to say.

Kwiatkowski is a guy but that's part of good drafting is filling out a roster with guys that can stick in the league. Amos was good value in the 5th. I think Goldman was a good pick.

The last 2 drafts, I think there is potential to have 7 guys that could start/play regularly in rotation on a good team, maybe 8.

Those are the 8 guys I listed earlier. Was Floyd overdrafted? Yes, he was. But he's still a 1st-round talent with excellent specialized skills. Howard was their 1st round pick that year, tremendous value.

The Bears were God-awful. Fox and Patton Oswalt aren't the guys to take this team beyond this year but another solid draft this year, some improved health, a deep threat, and a bit of luck and this team could be competitive next year.

Either that or they figured out pretty quickly that they would not be back, so why not play him. Seemed kinda odd that on the drive where they went for it on 4th down, they didnt do it again when they were on the 2 yard line.

I think the past few games only reinforce this opinion

I mean I have no problem shitting on Fox, but he's started a bunch of other rookies, many from week one, so I think it's more about Shaheen than he doesn't want to play rookies.

Yeah, I'm just saying, as I think you pointed out when it happened, the story that Fox wasn't playing Shaheen because he wanted to "win now" didn't make much sense.

Pace probably saw that as an admission of fault on the Kevin White Experience. But you're right.

His blocking is pretty poor, maybe keep Mitch healthy.

By Chris Emma–

(670 The Score) Adam Shaheen’s rookie season is over. The Bears’ second-round pick from April is inactive for the regular-season finale against the Vikings because of what the team has called a chest injury.

Shaheen, the rookie tight end out of Division II Ashland, has missed the last two games due to the injury. He has 12 receptions for 127 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games played this season, including four receptions during that game in Cincinnati.

Ryan Pace didn’t want a pro bowl safety in Budda Baker so he traded down for a TE that can’t get on the field.

Having no heart is technically a chest injury.
