I think MY GUY is Schurmur. He's had very good success with QB's at every stop. When he was head coach in Cleveland he they were competitive, which is more than you can say now. Thought he should have got more time there. He's clearly an offensive savant, but not a weirdo like Trestman so you know he should be able to handle a locker room as well.

I'm with RFDC in not being excited about him. I like the Philly crew and Jim Bob better.

DrFillipo or Shurmur will win out.

I don't have strong feelings either way on Shurmur. Was just giving rube crap.

Cooter does not seem to be drawing interest from anyone yet. I would think if he is really head coach material the Lions would be after him since Stafford seems to love him.

can the jim bob advocates articulate why jim bob? only because he has a stupid name? I can't get excited about hiring an offensive head coach who's team was dead last in the NFL in rushing yards per game (was 3rd worst in 2016).

to head off any responses indicating that its now a passing league... rushing yards dont matter.... this year 11 of the 12 playoff participants finished in the top 15 in rushing yards per game, the lone outlier being the steelers who finished 20th.

The Cooter love I think has indeed faded. The Lions are not even considering him.

I think you can argue that he maximized the talent at RB his GM gave him by using the passing game as the de facto running game with his running backs. I think you also understate the effectiveness of his passing offense without a premiere receiver on the team.

He turned Stafford's career around and the passing offense got better without an all-time great WR. The Bears actually have good RBs and this is all about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. I think his past immaturity is hurting him.

Um, no. He made the offense a bit more efficient, but Stafford was already having a great career.

A family of Lake Forest arrivistes is not hiring a man named "Jim Bob Cooter."

if the bear could add two WR's the caliber of tate and marvin jones, i would be very excited about next year based on that alone.

Stafford was heading in the wrong direction. He made him a better player WITHOUT Megatron.

That's because Megatron was an overrated player. Golden Tate and Marvin Jones are just as good.

Bears will interview Nagy as well. I wouldn't mind that hire either.

He wants say over personal, so will never happen. Pace isn't giving that up.

I like Nagy. Everything I have heard about him from people in KC are that he is a real smart and innovative guy. Nagy and DeFilipo are the two at the top of my list. I like Toub as well, but I haven't heard him connected to the Bears at all. He seems to maybe connected to the Colts.

It would be a fun flow chart if Pace had to go to Ted then Mc Caskey and then to Mc Daniels in order to make a personel decision

FWIW, Hub said yesterday AM that Toub would be the HC in Indy unless the Bears offered first.

Toub is not the right hire for the Bears now. Who is his offensive coordinator? It's a no win situation because even if he finds a really good one to develop Mitch, you lose him to a HC gig and then go back to the "OC roulette" shit you did under Lovie.

Matt Patricia.

Then have him hire a good OC and QB coach.

The Andy Reid tree on offense has 1 hit.

That's alarming considering how great Reid is.
