The #Dolphins are naming Dowell Loggains as their new offensive coordinator, source said. Big hire.

Former OC Clyde Christensen likely to remain with the team and transition to another role.

WHy though

I am guessing it is due to Gase calling the plays so OC is not that important.

Gase calls his own plays, not sure what Loggains will do as OC.

I am opening to the position that Seacrest was correct and I was incorrect about Harbaugh.

Not the guy you want as your next NFL coach.

Harbaugh has a short shelf life wherever he goes. Eccentric to the point of being manic. Doesn't adapt well to change. Too old timey of an approach to football. My way or the highway kind of guy.

Should I go on?

Yeah Seacrest hit the nail on the head on that one.

Did I read right that at both Stanford and the 49ers he was a problem by year 3 and out after year 4?

So basically 15 to 20 years late becoming a coach? We had this conversation recently but I actually think the old way is overall better. I know it was the way I was taught (that likely has something to do with it) but it appears the kids today are too soft and entitled. A little tough love and discipline is needed.

I won't go that far. You cannot deny the success associated directly to him at USD, Stanford and SF.

UM is a little different. He immediately returned them to legitimacy but the program has stagnated thereafter. I was really disappointed in what I saw out of his offense in the bowl. Bowl games is where you see real coaching show, in my opinion.

Tough love doesn't mean you are going to run against a nine man box no matter what.

That's just who he is.

All the coverage I'm seeing keeps mentioning that Pace is interviewing or meeting with so and so. Do we know who is actually in on the interviews? It can't be JUST Pace right? George and Ted wouldn't let that happen, right?

On Sports Talk Live last nite, Kaplan suggested that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky should be able to ask a few questions in the interview process.

Hub literally looked like he wanted to walk over and slap him.

He should have. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky isn't some established star.

The knock on him is he doesn't have enough relationships to put together a staff.

I think the Bears like that idea too. I'm more concerned about the offensive side. He needs competent guys on his team and I don't trust Ted Phillips to give him the right guys to add. He should have been preparing for this for at least the past few months.

It can't be that difficult. People like to be promoted and he isn't exactly without experience in this league.

Thinking about it a little more, he was a coach and OC under Shurmur. Maybe they are looking to hire Shurmur and make Defilipo the OC. The Eagles blocked his movement last year it doesn't look like Reich is moving from Eagles OC.

This could end up being a heck of a staff if they also kept Fangio. If not, Donatell did a great job with the secondary this year and could be promoted.

If McVay can put together a staff then he can. He has been connected to the NFL since like 2005.

It won't be McDaniels. For better or worse, the McCaskeys wouldn't bring in the paranoia, monomania, rudeness, and ultimate incompetence of the Belichick tree. The incompetence, they don't have a problem with, but the rudeness...

Your scenario is quite possible actually.

De fillipo is out of contract when the season ends.

Defillipo would reportedly be open to keeping Fangio.

He supposedly hit it out of the park with Pace.
