According to Facebook advertising info, there are over 6 times as many Cubs fans in the area.

We’re talking fans, not fans with money. Lower your budget, find more Sox fans. Simple.

The budget is for how many impressions I would get per day. I did not put any income information into my criteria.

Facebook 'interests' are compiled via likes and browsing / cookies. I spend a lot of money on Facebook advertising each year and I trust its data.

This is the most idiotic argument in a series of idiocy that this board traffics in.

It is an empirical fact to anyone who has lived or grown up in Chicago that the Sox are more popular in the city. Probably even now. You know Chicago is 30% black and 30% hispanic, right? And you know the Cubs literally wont let black people in the building and begrudgingly tolerate Spanish speaking players only if they are really good?

Its not even close. The media adores their burrito Cubbies and yes, that has successfully rubbed off in certain suburbs (though I think even this reach is wildly overrated), but in the actual geographic boundary of the city itself the Sox are still king.

 you know that maybe true...I doubt it...but it maybe true. The funny part in all of this is the discussion of "facts". "Facts" based on facebook likes and flags on homes. That is not "empirical facts." When you actually have real facts on this then please let us know.

Come on Frank, you are a smart guy. No place in this world takes Facebook likes as facts. The only reason you are taking it is because it goes against the Cubs.

I dont doubt there is decent amount of very vocal carpetbagging liberals from Iowa and downstate who adore their Cubbies and moved to Chicago a couple years ago as a sort of extended college experience.

Facebook uses an immense amount of data. To dismiss Facebook is ludicrous. But "likes" isn't the way to go about it. Facebook advertising uses cookies and behavior. It knows the websites you visit and the things you do. And, well, 6x more people in Chicago are interested in the Cubs versus the White Sox.

Not necessarily. For instance I'm sure I would be counted as a guy interested in the Cubs. You may be marked as interested in the Brewers.

Also FB is not really considered great in terms of data. For instance they say the Cubs are 2x bigger nationwide than the White Sox. That's with the Sox having virtually no fan base in the Midwestern areas no one cares about the Cubs dominate in.
