Just heard the commercial. Thursday at 5p on ESPN 1000. Any ideas insiders or to the rest who would like to speculate?

If this were WSCR, I'd speculate that they were changing their format to all Spanish.

Most likely announcing a change in the 9-12 slot.

Won't be re-upping the Bulls...They signed on already with 105.9 FM for next season.

The 2:00 PM start could be what it is as well, maybe 2-6 with the new midday show ?

Interesting times at ESPN Radio 1000...

I don't t think the all-sports station with the best ratings will have to put a national show in the mid-day. Use your heads. If they replace Silvy and Carmen (that's no guarantee), it will certainly be with another local show. Plus, I bet they go local from 7-10pm when the Bulls are done. That's 3 local shows Monday thru Friday starting in April. And you can damm well bet that OG will have no part in those shows.

I'll say it's some contest to go to Hawaii with the boyz....

...or some announcement for some contest to go to Vegas with MJH for the first couple of days of the NCAA Tourney.

Why would they announce any programming changed on MJH, unless they were actually changing their show?

I hope it's win a night with "Mac's trophy wife". That should help the ratings. LOL. Hmmmmmmmm

If there was a programming change, what better time to announce it, when they have their most listens ?

I wonder what ESPN 1000 will put out of its sleeve.

Can't picture Rosembloom or Malone getting the gig permanently. Listening to Malone, anyone else notice he sounds exactly like Keith Olberman?

Mike will have a huge part in the future programing at the station

Both of you (or maybe you're the same person), go back to screening calls at the Score and getting Murph his lunch.

This is the most likely choice. It was too cute of a promo to end up saying "Hey we shitcanned our mid-day show!" I wouldn't be supprised with the 2-6 being announced with a contest.

I've never listened to that show but judging from the promo's they run I'd have to say it sucks. He's another dumbass who doesn't want to talk sports...he even said so on one of the promo's they were running. If you don't want to talk about sports why in the hell are you doing a show on a sports station???

I know you're happy for me, but when Colin Cowherd used to do a local morning drive show here in Portland, Oregon, I worked out at the same gym as him downtown. He's a nice guy personally but his show isn't great.

Cowherd has Mike North's Disease—he loves to opine about all things NOT sports and pretend he's an expert just because he caught 5 minutes of Fox News the previous evening. The problem is, he doesn't have North's depth of knowledge about sports (I'm talking about North in the early days of the Score).

College football is Cowherd's big thing. I believe he's a Florida native or at least spent a lot of his professional career there. He's got too much of morning zoo mentality, which doesn't really fit well in the 9-12 slot.

UGH, I hate this douche, he's used his vendetta against ESPN 1000/Chicago not carrying him by endlessly ripping on the White Sox. I don't care if you don't like them, but he brings up this vendetta in the most weird times that it's obvious.

And this is the idiot who was ripping Eddy Guerrero after his death. They got so many complaints they had to set up a message that apologized to everyone. I don't know how he still has a job.

IF the station wanted a real big announcement, they'd get a local overnight guy. A taped Rome show is weak. And I don't give a shit what Mike and Mike say about an overnight guy, tough shit

I think it's going to be the time of the show...
The way those commercials sound, I'm thinking it's only related to their show.

I heard Jurko bring up the first few days of the Tourney a few days ago - and it pertained to absolutely nothing the other 600 pounds of man meat were discussing.

Are you actually suggesting that there is an abundance of muscle tissue in those 600 lbs? If you scrape up 100lbs I'll be impressed.
