From what I've seen, WalMart's core business has been strong, but yes Sam's Club has been lagging their other divisions and that's largely because of Costco. Sam's Club was always geared more towards small businesses (while also selling household items) whereas Costco has been more geared towards marketed as addressing household needs. Guess which of those 2 is a larger market.

I know nothing about Costco but I would guess this is where you will find your living wage surcharge. But if people decide to pay it and everyone is cool then that is how it should be.
You clearly know nothing about Costco. They already pay almost all employees a living wage. The only difference to them is that many suppliers may raise prices some.

You looking for some sort of fight bucko? I clearly said I do not. And I checked after BR's post and saw they do pay avg $21/hour prior to my post. My guess was that they recover some in the annual fee. Then I went on to say it is working they way it should if everyone is happy.

Now go get your shinebox.

You speak alot about topics you know nothing about.

The membership fee is like $50/year. You can probably eat that amount in free samples over the course of a year's worth of shopping.

Hey skitzo go get your shinebox as well. I never said anything negative about Costco or the people that pay the fee or how the employees either.

Listen, I know nothing about costco, but let me offer multiple thoughts on their business since I know nothing about them.

Literaaly 75% of your posts are like this:

Here is why Costco can pay its workers more:

Company Revenue per employee
Costco $610,000
Home Depot $236,000
Wal-Mart $221,000
Target $205,000

------

As you can see, the wholesale discount club model differs from any other big box model.

I would be interested to see the revenue per employee for Sam's Club.

If someone wants to dig through their filings it can be calculated. I do know that Walmart pays their Sam's Club associates higher wages compared to someone at the same job at a regular Walmart. I would expect the revenue per employee is higher at a Sam's Club than it is at a Walmart

Helpful Hint: If you want to call someone a skitzo, maybe don't make a post with every other word like that.

I have to admit that on multiple occasions over the years, my lunch dinner has been a Costco hot dog, a churro, and the free Diet Coke. Usually I've at least bought gasoline, but sometimes I've just gone for the hot dog because it's a better fast food deal than anything else around me.

I have never paid for lunch at Costco. If I am hungry I just stop and do a figure 8 through the free samples once or twice.

Aren't they just converting most of these facilities to transportation centers in an effort to do more online shopping/shipping to combat Amazon?
