...so, I was listening to Mike and Fred talk about Wood as the closer, and Fred says that Wood shouldn't have even been in there, because the closer is only supposed to be in there with a lead...I'll get back to that in a second. But Mike somehow interprets that as "Kerry can't pitch at the start of an inning". How Mikey got that, I dunno, but oh well.

Fred tries telling him that's not what he's saying at all, but Mike keeps putting words in his mouth "apparently, Wood career as a starting pitcher didn't prepare him to start an inning as a closer".

After the 6:20 update, I thought it was over, but no, Mike brings it back up...because he has to win this argument.

Thing is, he was going about it all wrong. All he had to do was explain this little nugget to Fred. The Cubs were at home...it was the 9th inning...the game was tied. It was impossible for the Cubs to get a lead for Kerry the rest of the game...if they did, game would be over.

That is really sad that these two sports "experts" are too stupid to understand the simple fact that a save wasn't possible.

Little wonder this show gets it's ass kicked with regularity.

Give Murph his props. He was all over the save-not-possible-at-home thing early and often.

Murph doesn't deserve props for this simple and obvious observation. It's common sense. It just shows how stupid Pappy and Fred are.

I heard all this. The stupidity of North is astounding, not about baseball, but stupidity in that his mind cannot process what is said to him.

Like was pointed out, he doesn't understand a comment, then says, "So what you're saying is..." He follows that with endless absurd statements that were never said by anybody but himself, which he then argues against. And he does most of this at a yell.

I listened from 6 to 7:30 a.m. today and I enjoyed more than a few guilty laughs. It still isn't enough to bring me back as a full-time listener.
