Per Feder. Not sure when takes effect. Part of Bankruptcy deal.

Why would WGN take the White Sox so that they can remind their listeners every day that they gave up on the Cubs after about 70 right before they won a World Series?

And the Bulls are stuck because they and the Blackhawks really can't be on the same station.

I think it depends on if Cumulus sells WLS, and if the new owners want a format which includes some PBP sports.

Nope.

If Cumulus dies, it dies.

They'll probably both go back to 1000 whence they came. Tough day for Connor McDoink.

Wherever the Sox end up, I hope Rob Hart gets picked up for pre/post game. he should've gotten it in the 1st place.

Reinsdorf should play chicken with these dopes. Let them file bankruptcy.

He honestly should, and the reason to do it is because Cumulus is such an awful company that they deserve it.

That too.

Let us out of these unprofitable contracts that we negotiated so we can continue negotiating unprofitable contracts!!

It's not every day that Jerry Reinsdorf is the good guy in a negotiation. Way to go, Len Dickey!

We need to get out of these awful contracts, but then lets go ahead and give more money to Rush because his 75 year old retiree audience is a true advertising sweet spot!

The funny thing is they would come so close to finally cutting Rush and reimagining 890 without him and then they'd re-up him anyway. They deserve their fate.

Rush Limbaugh here speaking to you about the benefits of Fentanyl. Is Oxy no longer doing the trick for you? Have you already gone past Vicodin? Then contact your doctor now and ask him to help prescribe you some high grade Fentanyl. It's the only painkiller on the market that will do the trick. If your doctor says no, then find another doctor, then get Fentanyl. Fentanyl, it's the last painkiller you will ever take.

They are in bankruptcy. They are going to the bankruptcy court to terminate the contracts.

Funny how Cumulus is calling these "legacy" deals, even though the Sox deal started in April 2016 and the Bulls in November 2016.

I know this may sound odd because the Cubs are on WSCR but why not have the Sox on WBBM?

CBS Radio would corner the market on all baseball in the city.

I realize it sounds unconventional but think of television coverage... both teams are broadcast on WGN, WLS and NBCSN Chicago.

JR should buy some shitty frequency and start his own radio station. Nobody listens anyway, how much worse could it be?

WBBM is one of the highest rated stations in the city. Why would they cripple their ratings for 6 months of the year with White Sox baseball?

Isn't their highest ratings during morning drive? May not effect the few afternoon and mostly evening games?

The SCORE might want the Bulls.

Seeing as though it's really only ESPN and The SCORE bidding on them, they might get them for cheap. Like you guys said, WGN can't take them with the Hawks.

When they had the Cubs for one year, 105.9 would still do the news while the Cubs were on 780. I think this was just for the weekday day games.

In theory, if WSCR had Cubs and WBBM had Sox both playing at he same time, 105.9 FM can carry their news feed.

It was all the games, and when they conflicted with the Bears, the Bears got 780 and the Cubs got 105.9. But I don't think anyone at CBS liked having that much play-by-play on 780. It's fine when it's the Bears on a few Sunday afternoons but you can't say THE NEWSWATCH NEVER STOPS if it stops 162 times.

They'll probably go to 1000, they need the destination programming. Personally, I'd like it if the Sox went back to 670 and the Cubs went back to 720 but I know that isn't happening.

Given 890 feels fleeced, maybe Reinsdorf did what was best for both organIzations. Both were on 1000 and then moved. Reinsdorf may not want to go back because his teams cannot obtain contracts as generous as he wants. 1000 may be what is best for the listener, but not what will happen.
