Can't believe Long Island got a talent like Jordan Eberle for one of the Stromes. Highway robbery.

Back to back horse abortions.

Firing Q isn't going to do anything. Some healthy scratches need to occur, starting with 19.

If he goes, it'll be framed as a retirement, but it's starting to look like the end. Problem is finding a better coach.

Would Dineen be an option? Maybe keep it in house.

If you think Quenneville is so bad that he has to be fired, why would you replace him with one of his handpicked Hartford guys?

Yep, take it from either Keith or Seabs, they haven't earned it this year

  Not sure why the organist went with the "Let's Go Hawks" ditty, but there wasn't one bloody person that responded to that call.

How fitting that Seabrook gets his doors blown off to allow for a breakaway.

I was much more receptive to firing Q in the offseason than most and it should be clear that this is his last season. What should they do now? It all hinges on Crawford. If he is done for the season, then the Hawks need to go full tank mode right now. If they expect him back, fire Q now and hope for a dead cat bounce. They have 36 games left but they are 5 pts back from the last wildcard and they have 3 teams in front of them. Does anyone have any confidence this team is going to turn it around without anything drastic?

And why the hell was Murphy a scratch last night? Ruuta, Forsling, and Seabrook were horrible last night.

Now is not the time to make a coaching change, unless Stan thinks that a midseason shakeup will vault them into title contention, which I'm sure he doesn't. My issue is, yes, who out there is available that is better than Q, but even the best coaches/managers in sports get fired at some point (unless they retire first), no matter their resume. Stan already has sent Q a shot across the bow last offseason (firing Q's buddy Kitchen). Yes, the roster is half aging and declining, and the other half is mostly young and unproven, but this team has enough talent on paper to not be in danger of missing the playoffs, barring the Crow situation. They have been trending sharply downward since the 2015-2016 season. It's all about "what have you done for me lately?". Generally speaking, franchises with high expectations are going to look for a change at the top before they obliterate the roster (Claude Julien, anyone?).

They need to get as many guys as possible on permanent LTIR, Hossa style. The no movement clauses for the length of the contract are killing them. Who is this team going to expose to Seattle?

The rest of this season should be dedicated to DeBrincat, Schmaltz, Vinny, Oesterle, Gufstason, etc. You can call the Captain a 1C but give him 3C linemates and assignments.

Only if Q refuses to do that do you fire him.

Stan doesn't have the power to make a coaching change. McCub is the one who has the real power on this team

I am not thinking about title contention. I am thinking about making the playoffs. How much longer do you think Q is going to be here? I believe in the philosophy that even the best coaches only have about a 10-year lifespan with a team. Plus, we have been seeing that Q cannot keep up with the new trends in the NHL. Sure, he did great when he had a deep team with 4 HOFers in their prime or close to it and a very good goalie but this team has been underachieving ever since 2015. Yes, they had a great record last year but it was smoke and mirrors due to Kane/Panarin/Crawford. They were quickly exposed as a fraud by Nashville.

And it's not about if the next coach is better. He has to be different with new ideas and a fresh view of the players. We all know that Q plays favorites and that has to stop. Quite simply, what Q has done this year has not worked. Now if Crawford is done for the year, let Q stay the rest of the season since they are not making the playoffs anyways. Might as well lose as much as possible and have a shot at getting an impact player in this excellent upcoming draft.

So, let's symbolically fire the coach because he was presented with a sub standard roster and his goalie got injured without a sufficient back up when these problems can all be properly laid at the feet of the GM?
