Loyola needs a better nickname. "Ramblers" is best suited for a debate team, not a self-styled sports juggernaut.

They don't play anybody, Florida wont be a top 25 team in a week. NIT bound with that weak ass schedule.

It would be good for a midnight tip-off and some Stones music.

In 1982, a new mascot, "'Bo Rambler," short for "Hobo," carried on the Rambler tradition. The athletics press packet for the season portrayed a bum rambling across the LU logo. In 1990, Loyola stopped using Bo, citing the rationale that a homeless man did not seem to be a fitting mascot for a top-notch university.

1990 SJW? nice....

Bo has an unofficial twitter handle... because of course he does

Is there anyone on the team that could even make the Simeon HS team? (Which probably gets better ratings to boot)

Debate teams have nicknames?

Ours didn't.

I suppose yours had uniforms, the nice Suburban, and cheerleaders too?

If you had school-paid lunches, I will kill you.

Climb aboard.

The stadium is very nice now if you wanted to give it a try. The entire campus has been transformed and it is a beautiful place on the lakefront

Northwestern's alums ran this play last year, boring.

You're welcome.

I'm sure it was my support of Joe Gentile's crazy radio station that provided him the money necessary to make the donation. I miss a Frank Sinatra impersonator on my morning shows as I drive to work.

Yeah, but those scumbags had never even made the tournament before... unlike US... the ONLY Illinois team to win the NCAA tournament...

I was actually a student there during the renovations 2007-2010, but I never went to a game. The new library and academic buildings are very beautiful though...

probably should also start a conversation about UIC. They are hot right now in the Horizon and that is a league tournament usually won by a mediocre team that gets ho

And every time they showed a game from Alumni Gym(?) they mentioned that ad nauseum in my yout. That and DFePaul's NIT win.

As a kid I used to wonder if all old Catholic schools' gyms were like that though. Because between many gyms around NYC and Mt. Carmel and other places here all had the quirky catwalks.

But I love to see them make a run worthy of Alfrederick the Great.

20 wins and an RPI of 50.

I hope they continue to win to the point that even if they lose in the conference tournament championship, they will still make the NCAA. That's probably overly optimistic.

Loyola wins again today, makes them 21-5 and an rpi of 51 ( give or take a spot). Question will be if they don;t win the conference tournament, will the get in? Only way I see that happening is winning out in the regular season, getting to the championship game, and then losing in the last minute. Just not enough quality wins on the calendar

I'll root for Loyola. I loved Alfredrick Hughes.

Them getting in would be like I'm 12 years-old again.

Next two should be wins and then they close out the regular season against the two other primary contenders for the league title. They really need to put a string of victories together so that they are in a position to get a seeding where they have a reasonable chance. A 10-11 seed would work. They get a beatable name team in round 1 and then still wouldn't have to face an elite team in Round 2.

CBS already is targeting them as a Cinderella

Still sounds as if they do not get in unless they win their conference tourney.
