Seems like a lot of people are just talking shit on a bunch of irrelevant and minor topics lately. What are your top 3 most important issues/topics/whatever right now? Let’s cut through the bullshit.

I don’t have much really. Haven’t paid much attention the last few months. We should legalize weed though.

What ya got?

Not comprehensive, but I'll make some general comments...

1. Borders need to be enforced. If there is yet another amnesty, there needs to be a constitutional amendment stating that no one entering illegally can ever become a citizen or amnestied in the future.
2. Some types of care should be covered regardless of ability to pay, but I don't think I should be forced to pay for someone else's knee replacement or alcohol rehab or erectile meds. Undecided on whether we should go down the road of pricing based on risk factors (i.e., obese or smokers pay more, etc).
3. Greatly increase the estate tax, so that the person who innovated or earned a fortune keeps it, but most goes back into society when they die. It's the only way I can see to level the playing field somewhat.

Pretty false equivalency between knee replacements and boner pills.

Agreed. It’s a good point on principle though. There would need to be a line drawn to get most people on board. Especially now that we’re eating laundry detergent as a hobby.

Pretty simple. Universal preventative care. Make people buy other insurance for the rest like car insurance. That insurance can be based on risk, etc. Can’t deny coverage. Set out of pocket max limit for all.

I don’t get it. I’ve only looked far enough into it to know that apparently it has happened dozens if not hundreds of times. Still not an outrageous number when you consider the total number of teenagers and total number of dumbasses in the country(obviously a pretty interconnected Venn diagram). Still pretty fucked up.

I would like to see health companies disclose their prices up front and not price-adjust based on insurance.

Kids don't fear their parents! I'd kill em if they survived.

Seriously though, how dumb are people? That doesn't make sense, at all, not even a little bit.

Right. Until recently I always thought of dumb juvenile stuff as like gluing your fingers together or dumb shit like that. I don’t remember kids risking their lives over dumb show off stunts when I was growing up.

I blame Douchebag and Logan Paul.

2.) Jokic > Embiid. Sooner people realize this, the better morale will be. Improved economy, etc.
3.) Ensuring Brady does not get a 6th ring. Could bring down the nation. Better to let the Eagles win and sacrifice Philly to save the country.

There was a joke going around Tumblr months ago with a picture of a Tide pod and it said something like "the forbidden fruit, they look so delicious" and then people started to record themselves pretending to eat them, then people started to record themselves actually eating them, and then those people died.

It's sort of the American equivalent to Krokodil, the Russian drug that makes your tissue die, but of course an American equivalent would involve cleaning agents. We're nothing if not a fastidious people.

Okay, no plastic surgery, no boner pills. But if your appendix bursts or you get hit by a car or virtually anything else that is in no way a choice, the government pays the hospital on your behalf. We're the wealthiest country in the history of the world, we can find a way to swing it. Just pay for your own boners.

No, no. Boners are important.

Yeah. Even as one of the few libertarians on the board I would say that makes sense and it’s one of the few points I’m fine being anti libertarian on. But there’s a lot of middle ground to cover there. I’ve seen “government healthcare” in the army. If we do that here with everyone it would be a fucking nightmare. I know it works much better in other countries with more historically socialist policies. I’d advise against being optimistic it would work in its initial run here though. Never underestimate our ability to fuck things up monumentally.

I would say right now:

1.) Reducing the military, NSA, CIA, etc budgets significantly and outright eliminating many programs currently in existence. Eliminate the surveillance state. Reduce the overall capacity and jurisdiction of the agencies like NSA, CIA, and any other agencies that approve of and execute programs like that warrantless wiretaps that violate the Constitution. Prosecute those found not adhering to the “official” policies. This will obviously never happen in the current political climate but it’s significantly more detrimental to the health of our country long term than Islamic terrorism or any of the other bullshit reasons for those programs existence.

2.)Income inequality and how to lift up those in poverty. I’m not smart enough to know what the solution is but I am smart enough to know it’s not as simple as raising the minimum wage and taxes on the wealthy, nor as simple as let the free market lift everyone up. Regardless of the appropriate solution it would clearly require a pretty dramatic overhaul of our national priorities though.

3.) some resolution to this MeToo stuff that doesn’t compromise innocent until proven guilty, due process, and the like legally but still has most reasonable people agreeing on some type of compromise. Obviously there will always be loons on all sides.

1)That say 40% of the voting population has a side (20% for each) and don't care about anyone or anything but themselves and the other 60% can't do or doesn't care enough to do anything.

2)Everybody in Washington and most corporate establishment/people are dishonest and unethical pieces of crap.

3)People are stupid.

Absolutely. If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won't walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can't walk him, one of the others will help you, and you'll both be nice. I want you to remember that it's a job. It's nothing personal. For when we have faced down impossible odds, when we've been told we're not ready or that we shouldn't try or that we can't, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can. Yes, we can. Yes, we can.
