I'm getting 4 or 5 calls a day now. They're using my npa/nxx to make it appear to be a local call.
Now... I got a call from someone who had the same npa/nxx as I do... I answered to tell the telemarketer to fuck off but it was just a civilian saying "you've been calling my phone all day. Stop it"
This is telling me they're using my number for their spoofing.
Talking to some random customers about it they are getting tons of calls from their area code and prefix as well.
It's gotten out of hand. What the fuck.

My Avaya phone at work has this feature.

It's fun.

TrueCaller app. It allows you to block numbers that have certain numbers in a row. From my experience, the spoofing is my area code and the first three numbers of my phone.

So I've blocked all calls coming from numbers starting with (123)456. Works like a charm.

The app also has other features, including a caller ID which identifies numbers that have been reported as Spam x number of times, and you can choose to auto block those as well.

Don't say I never did nothing for you.

From October through December I was getting 8-10 a day on my work phone. After the first of the year, they stopped.

When I was in Montana, I would get these random calls to my dorm every so often asking if I was "ready to buy the good stuff." At first I thought it was just a buddy fucking with me, but the calls would be so random and at such strange times I figured the calls must have been coming from the dealer of whoever had the room before I did.

I've had rather good luck with a similar app, 'Should I Answer'.

I use the same one Don -- it does a pretty good job of intercepting the calls before my phone even rings.

My favorite call is the latest we are calling about your credit card. Everything is fine but... that is as far as they get before I hang up.

Just got a voicemail from some lady telling me that she just got a call from my number and if you call again either leave a message or don't call again.

What a dope.

Not if they are making calls in violation of the law. If someone is on the National Do Not Call list, they are prohibited to call their number, but they violate the law all the time. I would love to see the violating companies fined to the hilt.

It is a National Do Not Call list. Not an International Do Not Call List. These are foreign companies.

I sometimes get messages that go directly to my voicemail from some company claiming they can lower my energy bills. No call, just suddenly my phone shows there's a voicemail.
